How it fits: Shelved 11x

Review: I found this one difficult to get into at first, probably because the beginning was so abrupt and seemed to start right in the middle of something that happened, which was barely explained. It was off-putting. But I was able to put that aside as I got to know Anna and began to admire her for her strength and perseverance. But the story didn't have the same feel as the Mercy Thompson books. It felt slower and frankly depressing. I guess I missed Mercy's smart mouth and badass attitude. But I'm open to reading more in the Alpha & Omega series, mainly because of Anna. She's pretty awesome.

Yep, its basically the first 70 odd pages. It's how Anna & Charles meet after Anna calls Bran.

When she originally wrote it, it wasn't meant to be a full length novel. Then she ran into legal probs which meant she couldn't include the first bit into Cry Wolf. But at least its now published separately so its easier to get if your library doesn't have On the Prowl.

And damn, now I've gotta re-read it :D
