Review: I received this as a free book and has been on to read list for awhile. The story was good but I felt like I needed more character development. This is a series that I may continue on when I have no other books that a OMG I need to read this now book. I just had a hard time with the authors writing style. It seemed abrupt and chopping. I did start to like the characters but not enough to make run out to get the next in the series.

I hate doing that but sometimes I like an author too much to wait to start. Or if I receive an ARC for a series, that is painful sometimes. That is when you know the series really has you because you remember the due date for the next book. I have had times were I did that and forgot all about a series until years later when I come across it again.
But there are also those series that never end like Anita Blake and Alex Cross.

Review: I loved the first book of this series, even though it ripped my heart out at the end. The second book was just as wonderful, and still emotional, but in completely different ways. The world building is amazing, the difficulties faced by the MCs real and seemingly hopeless, and the author does a great job of making the secondary characters as real and as important as the main characters. I can't wait and dread reading the last book in the trilogy, because then it will be over.

Uh oh, that's a lot of pressure on my review. ;) Hope you enjoy it!

Also is there a way to see if a book is on a specific list by filtering or seeing on the book page? I find myself finding one on the first few pages just because the lists are so ling.

Review:
The book started great with Riley having to same some humans. This showed us she doesn't run from a fight (or what she would call her duty) to protect humans even if she is only a guardian liaison and does mostly paperwork. It also showed the twisted personality of one of the guardians that actually do the protecting (or well.. should do).
When her twin brother goes missing, Riley steps up her game and makes it her mission to find him and bring him back home. If only it was that simple though, as things go far beyond the original scope and Riley finds herself deeper into the mess than she thought. Add to that her wolf part is in moon heat... yeah.. timing is everything they say.
Some would call it PNR but I think I'll go with sexy urban fantasy. Yes there is (a lot) of sex going on.. werewolves in moon heat and all that, but the bigger part of the story is still focussed around Riley, her allies / enemies, the investigation and lets not forget the handsome vampire Quinn.
World building was good as was character creation, but the development was lacking. We didn't really get a feel of who the characters are, what their backstory is, why they react this way (apart from the history Quinn has with werewolves). I hope we get to know the cast more in depth in next book, it would be a shame since it has so much potential!
The flow was great, not too much action at once (well.. apart from the sex) and quite a lot of interaction which was nice. I mean, a good conversation really helps the story along.
While the plot was super and the story had me hooked, it still felt as if we've only touched the top of what hopefully will be a whole damn iceberg. As I've said, this has so much potential, I will absolutely read the rest, just hope we get that much needed 'feel' for the cast.

Victoria -- we can compare notes!"
Oooh!!! Nice! I haven't started mine, and while this isn't my 'usual' read I'm looking forward to it! Curious what you will think of it!! :D
Btw, has anyone heard anything from Art? I have only been in the group for a short time, but he's normally very active in this thread.

Please accept my abject apologies....
I used to do my reading @my Kindle for PC app on this, my laptop, with three or four SOS pages up a swipe away....
Then I Purchased a new Kindle, an Oasis, that visits the Kindle store, and even updates a few Goodread shelves on the fly... and leaves more space in my lap for Calli Koe (the cat)...
I did it again... started a new series for "Shifters" ... got distracted (I'm up to book 8)... and was a slacker here...
I'll get the paperwork caught up in the morning, when I can see the keyboard well enough to work the html...
Since Windows updated the last time, things have gotten squirlly...

Review: This one was okay. I know a lot of people love this series, but I still don't really have the urgent need to read the next book -- even though I will at some point. I'm enjoying watching Anna become more confident, and Charles is perfect for her. The one thing that is interesting is that it seems like this series will focus more on the duo going to different places and working on delinquent werewolves, which has some potential to broaden the world and make it more interesting.

To find out if a book You want to read is on the shelf called for that week, follow the instructions found HERE...
I did it, and found My book for this week had been shelved two times, (I counted) on the "Necromancers" shelf ... the BSB rules require EXACT SPELLING ... there are a lot of different shelves with some form of necromancers in their title... Making the substitutions in the Secure goodreads link at the top leads to a countable page of those users who shelved the book exactly on the required shelf...
h t t p s:// xwxwxwx.goodreads.com/ book/show /9463176 -grave-witch
h t t p s:// xwxwxwx.goodreads.com/ shelf/users /9463176 ?necromancers
...took some doing (from me, anyway) to break the links so they'ld show all the way, with substitutions ...

An outstanding beginning to a Wowzers series. As you may have guessed, I've already dug into this series, and found it pretty amazing. Ms Wilks is another of those writers who refuses "info-dumps", allowing the reader's world view (in this case, worlds view ) to develop organically. And the complexity grows flawlessly through the 8 stories I've completed so far.
My Goodreads friends who've read this series say they've enjoyed it, and so have I! I've downloaded volume 9 already, but I must pause to read the next shelf's selection...

Review: I teeter between 3-4 stars. Mainly because this is not a genre I usually enjoy. Part of me thinks I am judging it to harshly because it is not my typical book. However, the book grabbed my attention once I got use to all the different names. I will probably continue on to book two just to see what happens. Do not get me wrong I love Anita Blake and a few other necromancer story but the ones I enjoy and love all have more of the other paranormal that I love like shifters and vampires. Hence why I love Anita Blake, she has it all.
If I was in a store and saw the covers of the book I would definitely not stop to think hmm, this looks interesting. The covers to me seem comic book.

Review: I was not a fan of this book. I thought I was getting into a supernatural Avengers type book, but it turns out everyone was depressingly normal and most of them weren't very likeable. The MC only used her necromancy twice, and otherwise spent the book hanging out at "headquarters" doing...well not much. The man who I *think* is supposed to be the romantic lead for some reason came accross as old and kinda creepy, but that may have just been because I had trouble remembering the heroine was actually 18 and not 12. I have NO desire to continue the series. Let's see what Victoria thinks.

I haven't started yet (I'll read it today) so after your review I'm kinda worried!!! :)

Review:
Stacey, you had me worried for a while there and for the first few chapters I was really thinking of picking a different book.
But yeah... to be very honest, I was quite surprised with this one :) Glad I stuck with it, it was a nice enjoyable read.
World building was good. The author described Victorian London really well, slums, sewers, ... As a reader it felt effortless to imagine the scenes.
Character building was good. As this is only the first of 10 books (if I'm correct) it stands to reason there will be a whole lot more delving into the psyche of our characters. But for a first book, it was enough. We got to know Charlie quite well while Fitzroy remains a delicious mystery.
The book was well written and there were next to no errors. There is also no sex (if that is important to you).
The pacing and flow were decent. Some parts felt a tad too long and had me urging them on but I feel this was mostly due to setting things up for our cast not only for this book but for the following ones. While it was something that did bother me a bit I can understand the reasoning behind it. That being said I do hope the pacing is better in the next book.

Review I give this 3 to 3.5 stars. I guess I have read so many like this book and series that I am interested but not raving about it. I started book 2 so there is that but I am not rushing to get through them to find out what happens. It has been awhile since a series hit me like that. So until the next weeks selection I will continue on with this series.

Review:
I'm blown away. I've read the book in one go and already marked it as one of my favourites.
Such an immense powerful story, I would recommend this book to everyone.
The author takes you on a wild adventure, describing a world you can effortlessly imagine. You are right beside Feyre and Tamlin as they navigate the deep currents of court politics, intrigue, curses and romance. The world building is superb. As I know this is a series I do hope we will get to experience more of Prythian.
Character development was great. We learned some important events from High Fae history as well as Feyre's history. We find out why Tamlin behaves as he does and why Amarantha is the Queen Bitch.
All of the characters seem so real, they are well thought out and alive. Very well done.
The flow of the story is excellent. You get eased into it a little and then all of a sudden, you're running alongside Feyre, trying to escape whatever is after her this time. It gripped me in its clutches, not letting go, even now I've finished the book and even slept I still feel like I'm in the middle of it.
I have found no errors and for those wanting a clean read: this book contains sex.
I've put the next book on my TBR pile, I don't think my heart can handle reading it now, so I'll give it some time... but yeah, I would definitely recommend this one.
