I really enjoyed this one! I love this series in general, but this one in particular kept my attention from start to finish. Part of it may be because I'm a gamer, so I was really intrigued by the storyline revolving around someone being killed while playing a hologame. Plus, it felt like there were a lot more humorous moments than usual, especially between Eve and Peabody. I laughed out loud a lot, and that's always good, in my opinion. 30 books in, and I'm still looking forward to reading number 31!

I really wasn't in the mood for this when I first started it, and that affected my outlook for the first 10 to 15 percent of the book. Once I shook that off though, I quickly became engrossed in what was happening and kept wanting to find more time to read so that I could find out what would happen next. I haven't quite made up my mind if I like the main character yet, but I certainly feel for him and his situation, and it makes me want to continue on to find out what's going to happen in future books. I'll definitely be continuing the series.

Review: I always enjoy an In Death book, especially on audio as all the characters just come to life. The last few have been a pleasant way to spend a few hours, but this one was truly exciting. Robb can make you feel for the victims in a way that I haven't felt in most other books, and in this one Eve and the crew were racing to try to save the next 2 victims being held captive. I truly felt the anxiety and stress right along with the characters. I'm sad that I'm close to catching up to the end of the series.

I had some qualms about starting this one due to mixed reviews, but as you can see, my opinion fell on the "good" side of the line.
The story is obviously aimed at younger readers, yet well enough done to appeal to us oldsters who can tolerate less "relationship heat".
Characters and environs were well developed/described, and there was a "new-to-me" twist upon the "worlds of the fairie".
I've already done the "rest of the series" thing for my Kindles, and will be checking back to be sure I fit in "singles" in order... (thanks be for goodreads)

I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope you and your family get well soon!

This one is hard for me to review. It's not that I didn't like it because I did. I was always interested in what was going on, but I never felt an urgent need to get to the finish like I do with some other books. It also suffered largely from "first book syndrome", with a lot of taking a break from the action to explain something about how the world is set up. This really messed with the pacing of the book, and left me sometimes feeling out of sorts. I did like the main character, though, and given some events that take place towards the end, I'm really curious to see what happens next. So I'll be reading the next one in the series and hoping the pacing problems will improve now that the world has been introduced.

In the meantime you need another Captain. Can I suggest Art step in? He did a great job last round :D
And I can't see an up-to-date tracking post, so Victoria or whomever steps up knows what they've got to read.

Delitealex, I hope everyone is feeling better soon!

This is our most updated post.
Tracking post
Sandra, does Victoria have to read a book for all the categories that have been called already?
Art, do you want to Captain? :) I can probably do it if needed, but am happy to follow.

Yes, she does. I did advise her when she signed up for standby to read along with the shelves, so hopefully she has :)

OF COURSE I'll take overr for Delitealex...
Give me a few minutes..........

Yeah, this is a really, really great book.
Voila... review done!
Just kidding :D But still... my sentiment kinda remains.
First we have the world building, detailed description of what's going on and who the players are. The cast is well fleshed out, of course with the emphasis on Lucas and Sasha but the remaining cast is certainly not left out.
The pacing is good, no part in the book feels rushed.
There were some mistakes here and there but nothing that took away the attention of the story.
And yes, sex is involved!
I've read my share of books, but this writing is just superb!! The book reads effortlessly, it just does not let go! It sweeps you off your feet and well... there you are... staying afloat in a wild river with all the twists and turns that leaves you wanting more! :D
Such a great first book of the series, will surely read the rest (and again and again and again).

What a hell of a ride! The emotions you go through when reading this book will leave you shattered.
The story keeps you on your toes the entire time. Think you know what's going on and who the bad guy is? GUESS AGAIN! and again... and well.. pretty much till the end.
A rollercoaster that makes me want to grab the next book pronto and damn everything else to hell.
For some reason I haven't yet read the prequel, so if you have the chance to do so I would advise it. Not that I missed it, but you get the whole story about who Muse was in the netherworld, owned and trapped before Akil came along and gave her the tools to set herself free. As I've said, it clearly isn't a must, but I would advise it.
The story was excellently written. The flow was great, gripping you tight in its clutches and only allowing a much needed breath or two between all the action. For it having only 244 pages, you got a whole lot of story and it didn't feel rushed at all.
The character development was good, teasing with bits here and there about Stefan, all the different aspects of Akil's mood swings and you got to know Muse pretty damn well.
There is sex in the book (if that is important for you) but nothing graphic, more.. hinted at.
I can honestly say, I loved the book, even now, an hour after reaching the end of this instalment, my body is still on edge as if I've been drinking coffee for the last 24h... not sure if I should grab the next book or just gently step away from my Kindle...

Hellow everyone and thanks for the warm welcome :D
Yeah Steph Ann, I've had those for aaaaaaaaaaaages, never rly got to read them (too many books, too little time). So I was extremely happy with the Bingo challenge haha.
Been going through all the possible categories today, picking out my books... so I'm ready!!!! :D
I will be reading:
Part of a Series (week 3): Angels' Blood
Free Read: A Demon Bound (option nr 2 - best of UF series - nr 66 on the list)
I've had way too much coffee today... or it's still the lasting effect of Pippa's book... To read or not to read... is that even a question? ;)
Love being here with you all, looking forward to a lot of fun (and victory! ;))

Hey there, @Victoria and all!
Multiple choices in the same post are OK by me, however I would request a BOLD heading as the first line of such posts,
i.e. ... Selection Post ... Completion Post ... Choice Notice ... or some such .
This will make it easier to "pick 'em out" when I'm scanning the thread to assemble our TRACKING POST . I'm sure the LURKING NINJAS might appreciate it too.
Thanks,
ART

Can someone remind me -- if a book is shelved Part of a Series, but doesn't make the list because its only 25 pages long, can we still use it? Or does it have to appear on the ACTUAL list? My preferred book is shelved this way 5 times, but the lowest the list goes to is 8 times, I think?

I was just re-reading those rules, and if you click on the "she(ved-one-time" link on your individual desired book, and it links to your "desired shelf", you can use it!
The problem stems from Goodreads policy change to only display 25 pages... at least they haven't (yet) discarded the overages...

You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'futuristic romance'.
[Your updated BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]
Good Job!! :D

To be honest, I haven't really read that many romance novels with angels as the main theme, but this series is on its way to become one of my favourite! I do love myself a good romance :)
I love the fact that, unlike some other books, the heroine doesn't have to do everything. Nope, Elena is pretty much relegated to tracker. And yes, this is a good thing! I mean, there are Archangels who are infinite more powerful than humans/hunters/vampires, it makes a lot of sense that they get to do the heavy lifting :)
The characters were interesting, we got some info here and there about Raphael and some of the vampires, with Ransom and Sara having their say as well. Elena is, as the main character, of course the most fleshed out, though I must say that I wanted to know the full story of what happened in the past and not just pieces of info. Because this really scarred Elena and made her into the woman she is today, nightmares and all. Hoping that will be revealed in the next book.
As the romancing goes, it wasn't over the top (and yes sex is involved if that is important to you). They didn't jump each others bones right from the get go, but rather got used to each other and got over their own prejudices first (well.. some at least).
The book is well written and I don't think I've found any errors. The pacing is great, not too much info at once, a gradual building of the story.
All in all a most excellent read, I thoroughly enjoyed it and especially loved all the character interaction.
Reading this in one go last night, might not have been the best idea... now off to get some sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
