message 129: by Terri (new)

Terri (NaughtyNewfie) | 5 comments I am super excited to have found this group, I joined Goodreads a few years ago but haven't been super active, since I haven't found a group that seemed to include people that actually liked to read, not just one genre or because a certain book series was super popular or because all their friends were on here, etc.
I am not gonna lie, I work insane hours and have two young kids so I may be super active sometimes and then fall completely off the radar for weeks at a time but I LOVE reading and discussing books and not many people in my immediate circle share that passion. What I like to read varies depending on the mood I am in and what is going on in my life. My favourite author of all time would have to be a tie between Ursula Hegi and Anne Rice, with MANY close runner ups!!
My favourite book? (Please don't kick me out) is not from either of my favourite authors, it is Twilight (seriously don't judge me too harshly). I clearly have a sense of humour about it. But part of the reason has nothing to do with the novel itself, but what it did for me, it rekindled my passion for reading, something I lost for a while due to my hectic lifestyle.
If I could live anywhere it would be my hometown in Newfoundland, slow down my crazy schedule and spend more time curled up with a good book. Also this would give me an opportunity to pursue my secret dream of becoming a writer.
I have a Chihuahua named Tequila; a cat named Ariel and a Gecko named Bob and work with animals daily both as a professional groomer and a volunteer at my local Humane Society.
I know I'm a book addict because....I am surrounded by books as I write this; I once packed a "book" suitcase when I went to Mexico on vacation; and I've stayed up all night trying to stop after "just one more chapter".

Welcome to the group, Terri. Don't worry, no one here will judge you :). We already have quite a few members who love the Twilight series.
I also have 'just one more chapter' syndrome. I stayed up until 3 am last night because of it.:D
