Stephanie (alsnorm) Lisa wrote: Haha! I did the same thing once with a final paper!

Papers are far worse than exams to do that with. With papers I find that I start to emulate the writing of whatever it was I last read... usually that means the paper material's and its okay, but sometimes its a really torrid bodice ripper romance :S

Selinea | 9 comments Birthday: April, 1993

Favorite Book(s): The King of Lies, City of Thieves, On Mystic Lake, Parsifal's Page

Favorite Book Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Stand Alone Mystery Novels With Non-Detective Main Characters (okay, so that's not a genre, but that's what I'm currently looking for. Favorite Author: (Different from those in my favorite books) Brandon Sanderson, Mary Jo Putney, Brian Jacques

Favorite Color: Silver

Favorite Food: Fried Yams, Sushi

Any Pets: Unfortunately not

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: San Francisco (I was there on vacation this summer for a few days and it was so cool! Climbing all those hills would keep you healthy too. XD)

Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because I just went to the library on Saturday and now I have to go again tomorrow, haha.

message 60: by Mila (new)

Mila | 1 comments My first introduction for a group, hopefully its a good start.
I am born in February and have always liked the fact that I am born in winter.
Since I cant choose one, im going with 3 favourite authors: Fyodor Dostoyevski, Jules Verne, Agatha Cristy.
As you noticed from the bit written before, I am indecisive, therefore my three favourite genres are: fiction, psychology, adventure.
I dont have one favourite colour (surprise surprise), so im going with green and orange.
My favourite food is the infamous pizza, and for that, it seems im quite decisive.
If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be Tuscany, Italy.

OddModicum Rachel (oddmodicumrachel) | 126 comments lol, Mila.... well if you have to be decisive about only one thing in your life, I agree that Pizza is an excellent choice! ;) I was an English major in college, and this is the first time I've ever heard that Dostoyevski's first name is Fyodor. Thanks so much for the tidbit of knowledge!

Lex Bex Birthday: May 12th
Favorite Book(s): Vampire Academy/ Bloodlines series, Anna and the French Kiss, 1984, and at the moment that's all I can muster up because I have sleepy eyes and little motivation to skim my poor excuse of a bookshelf

Favorite Book Genre: YA and I really want to check out mysteries or philosophical books

Favorite Author: Richelle Mead if you couldn't tell

Favorite Color: Lavender

Favorite Food: Korean BBQ and Pho

Any Pets: 2:
Pepper: Lhasa ahpso 1 year
Sluggo: English bulldog 3 years

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: Italy, somewhere in France that's more isolated or Canada possibly the french speaking region

Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because I get so attached to the characters in a book that I can't distinguish the reality from literature and have once or twice told a memory I thought I had that was just in a book. It sounds cuckoo but I think of it like acting and how actors adopt the behaviors of their character for the time being. I can't be the only one here someone quick tell me I'm not crazy.

I decided to join this group because lately I stopped reading books as often as before after adopting new hobbies and I just want to be reminded of the feeling I would get while reading a book :)

message 98: by OddModicum Rachel (last edited Aug 23, 2014 02:02AM) (new)

OddModicum Rachel (oddmodicumrachel) | 126 comments Lex... you're definitely NOT crazy! Or if you are, then I am, as well. lol I get the 'did that really happen, or is it something I remember from a book?' thing happening in my brain, as well. ;) And so funny because if I had to choose a 'real world' place to live, it would be your list, exactly. Might add a little hill town in Greece to the list, and possibly some isolated little ex-pat community in the Mayan Riviera region of Mexico, but other than that.. dead on. And oh how I adore your tiny mousie with a teddy avatar! That is utterly twee and ridiculous, in the very best ways.

Favorite book: There are simply too many. I tend to love the books that are undiscovered. Believe it or not, I think I last fell in love with Amber Jaeger's books. If you like fairy-tales, I would suggest you read some of her work.
Favorite book genre: YA, NA, fantasy, dystopian, paranormal (and the list keeps going on and on)
Favorite author: I would love to say myself, but that's totally not true. Honestly, there are way too many that I love.
Favorite color: Lavender purple
Favorite food: Ugh, you really can't ask a foodie this question.
Pets: Tang and Coo (cats)

I don't have a favorite place to live. I moved from NYC to Singapore and it was a huge change for me. What I learned was to just adapt and find the best things out of each place. They all have their pros and cons, and you have just to learn to love the pros that you find. :)

I know I'm a book addict because...I feel wrong if I haven't read in an entire week. I also get horribly upset if I read one book in a series, and realize that the rest of the series have yet to be published. Seriously, who gets emotional over things like this? Probably only a book addict.
