I'm Lucy :) Hope everyone is having a good day!
Birthday: July 19th, 1992
Favorite Book: This must be a joke. I can't narrow that list down. Well... I don't particularly have a favorite. But if I were to put a temporary book on the top of head that I think is quite exceptional would be Wonder by R.J. Palacio
Favorite Genre: YA DYSTOPIAN <3 #hearteyes

If I could live anywhere in the world: Too far off, haven't thought that far, but somewhere warm constantly. I strongly dislike the cold.
Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because I'll go out of my way to walk to the public library to borrow books, in fact, I'm at the library right now, I'm adding to my to-reads list every couple of days, and I've skipped a couple classes before because I was too into a book.. please shh.. don't tell my parents. LOL

Wellpp, that's me, have a lovely Thursday evening, or day if you're from a different time zone <3

Doug Walsh (doug_walsh) Hello group!

I'm Doug. I guess the most notable things about me, at the moment, is that I've been travelling the world with my wife for the past year, mostly by bicycle. I spent 13 years writing videogame strategy guides (think travel guides for fictitious places) and 7 of those 13 saving up my money for a mid-life mini-retirement of sorts.

This trip gives us a lot of time to read. I usually read books either about where we're headed or by authors from those regions. Here are a few of my favorite books that I've read in the past year: Her Privates We, For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Art of Fielding, and Shōgun

An aspiring novelist and travel writer, avid mountain biker, life-long video game player, and lover of dogs, my wife, good beer, and better steaks.

Editusrex | 12 comments With the imminent departure of my eldest for college next year, and his brother hot on his heels in a very short two years later ... This mom might actually have some free time to read (not to mention, inundation in books will help me deny that I'm empty-nesting it!)!

On a work note, I edit all day for a medical journal -- the downside is not having a whole lotta time to pleasure-read. The upside, a love of words, that I deal with every day, shored up by an every-other-Sunday job at the library!

Great to be here -- I'm Paulette. About to start Girl on a Train.
Birthday: August 10
Favorite Book(s): Many on the list
Favorite Book Genre: Suspense
Favorite Author: Again, many
Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Food: Steak and baked potato
Any Pets: 2 dogs
If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: Ireland/Scotland
Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... Even with five minutes to spare in the morning, just before I leave for work, my nose is buried in a book.

Chrysanthi Koumpi (koumpi_enroute) Hello all!
I'm Chris and I'm from Greece (which rhymes by the way).
This is the first time I join a book club. I would like to learn about foreign writers and books since they aren't often translated in my country. Some of my favorite books are "the house of sleep", "the stranger" and "blindness". I haven't been a book addict for long and suggestions would be more than welcome.
Thank you for your time!

message 939: by Jess (new)

Jess Vasquez Hi Everyone! I am brand new to this group, so I am excited to start my journey to read more and hopefully gain a few friends in the process. I grew up in Maryland and moved to San Antonio, TX when I was 22 with my boyfriend, and shortly thereafter ended up moving to Tampa, FL for a job. I live here with my boyfriend and our two cats, and my mom lives not too far away. I have not made any friends here b/c the people I work with are much older and I do go to school but never really talk to classmates. Anyway, here are my answers to the questionnaire:

Birthday: June 19
Favorite Book(s): This is hard for me, but books that stuck with me would be the Harry Potter series, Wuthering Heights, & the Hunger Games series {pretty basic I know, lol}
Favorite Book Genre: Fantasy, Adventure, Thriller
Favorite Author: JK Rowling
Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Food: French fries & sushi
Any Pets: Nala, Marley, & Xio [2 cats & a snake]
If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: Ireland or Scotland

I don't consider myself a book addict at the moment, I used to read ALL the time, but I got busy. Now I am trying to get back into it because I would like to write a book one day and I could use some inspiration!

message 940: by angie (new)

angie (novelita) Hi guys! I just got invited to this group by my best friend. I love to read but tend to get distracted by my everyday life. I just recently quit my full time office job in order to pursue something better and more fulfilling so it's safe to say I have more time on my hands!

Birthday: June 15
Favorite book: This is extremely hard for me. I'm going to pretend this question says "last book you read" and say Gone Girl :)
Favorite book genre: I like YA, fantasy, psychological thrillers. I will read almost anything!
Favorite author: I don't think I've explored enough books written by one single author. Maybe that'll change though!
Favorite color: Many shades of blue. Some purple here and there.
Favorite food: French fries, sushi, and Mac and cheese.
Any pets: No, but I will get at least one dog as soon as I possibly can! I'd love a Siberian husky or a shiba inu.
If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: I would love to travel everywhere in the world and someday be able to properly answer this question but my favorite place I have been is probably Madrid, Spain.

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments Welcome to the group Editusrex, Chris, Jessica and Angie ☺

We all have different tastes and what we like, but one thing we all have in common here is our love for reading.
If you are looking for your next read or someone to read a book with, I suggest checking our Books of the month and Buddy Reads threads.

We also have some great challenges, so if that's what you like, check them out. But I have to warn you they can become addictive. :)
At the moment we have one team challenge going on - Wheel-a-thon so if you are interested in trying that out, we are always looking for new players. (It doesn't matter how much you read, everyone is welcome). Team challenges are great place to meet other members and maybe discover your new favorite books and authors.

Anyway, I hope you'll have great time here with us, no matter what you choose to do. :)
