Favori..."
Welcome Caity! Wow, your kitty is getting up there in years. I haven't been lucky enough to keep mine that long. All previous have passed due to health reasons. Enjoy the cuddles!

My name is Joyce. Twenty years ago I was a member of a book club that met monthly. I enjoyed the company of the other members and the exchange we had discussing the books. As life happened, we married and had children and the book club disappeared.
Now, here I am looking for that exchange again. I started my own virtual book club, but it's moving a bit slow for me, so I decided to join a club that was already in the swing of things, with active members.
My b-day is December 7 (yes Pearl Harbor).
I don't have a favorite book, author or food.
My favorite book genre is Realistic Fiction, with lines to make me laugh outloud.
My favorite color is blue, in clothing it's black.
I currently have 6 birds: 2 white ringneck doves (Michael and Jackie, both female) and 4 parakeets (Eenie, Meenie, Minie and Luckie, 3 girls and 1 boy) - thanks to my children.
If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: someplace that is comfortably warm, all year long, but not surrounded by water.
I used to be a book addict. In the past weeks I've enjoyed reading the books chosen by my book club, hopefully I'll develop my love for reading again.

Welcome to the group Joyce :) You'd probably be interested in our book of the months (link). We read 3 (or 4) books a month of various genres and have discussion questions and a reading schedule but you're welcome to vary your schedule and only answer what you'd like or post completely different thoughts.
There's also quite a few buddy reads going on where a few people get together and discuss whatever book they've selected to read if you're looking for something more specific.

And I'm getting an adult dog, Kelly!

And I'm getting an adult dog, Kelly!"
Ahh nice. You don't have to go through the house breaking then hopefully. Puppies are cute but lots of work (just like kids!)

Six birds = a lot of work, food and feathers everywhere. Don't mention the lovely sound they add to the atmosphere, but their individual personalities makes it all worthwhile.
Michael, the dove, communicates in dove sounds whenever she hears my voice and does a dance on cue. :)

Thanks. I've been lurking for awhile, but I want to join the RPG, so I finally introduced myself.

Welcome, Cyn!
Terry Pratchett is one of my favorite authors. Have you listened to any of the audiobooks narrated by Stephen Briggs? Magic.

No, I haven't as yet had the pleasure of listening to the audio books with that narrator. I shall look out for them, though!
I do so love reading Terry Pratchett in public, always brings lots of consternation and disapproving looks from the public for my incessant giggling. Highly recommended. :)

Welcome Krysta! I also don't go anywhere without a book. Don't you find it comforting to know that's it's there in case you need it?
Welcome Marty! I see you've joined the RPG so I'm sure I'll see you in the Tavern for some mulled wine. ;-)

The mods are very friendly and helpful, so don't be afraid to ask something if you have any doubts. We have tons of challenges (monthly, seasonal, year-round, team...) and buddy reads and we usually have a few picks for book of the month.
Hope you enjoy your stay =)

Welcome Marty. By the way, what does an art and design librarian do?

We have folder set for authors - Author Self Promotion so that would be great place for you to tell us something about your book.

I spend so much time on Goodreads that I've taken to finding audiobooks so I can browse GR and "read" at the same time.
