Introduce Yourself Part Two

Are you interested in a challenge that is mostly for fun and you can use whatever you're currently reading..."
Hi Kelly! Thank you so much for asking. I would like to do one that can let me use whatever I'm currently reading, but I would also like to read books that are outside of my usual pick of books. Is that alright?
I didn't catch the RPG challenge. I'll definitely check it out.
Thanks again!

For some new ones that just were released:
Since you like mysteries, this one might be up your alley.
And here's a monthly challenge that would direct you to choose which books but is still fairly open. You can always use the "cheat codes" to lower the difficulty to a level you enjoy.
Also, as far as older ones are concerned, I'm a fan of this one because it applies to so many areas and you can slowly work to fill it out.

Favorite Book(s): The Shining, The Vampire Lestat
Favorite Book Genre: horror
Favorite Author: Stephen King
Favorite Color: black
Favorite Food: bacon
Any Pets: Neo, the very expressive, opinionated Bengal Cat.
If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: Sometimes I forget about the beauty surrounding me. I live on the west coast of Florida at Tampa Bay. I think I'm where I want to be.
Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because…. Okay, time for full disclosure. I love to read, but not like I love to write, and there's the admission. I'm a writer, a horror writer to be more precise.
The official release of the second edition of The Bookseller is on hold pending reviews and I'm here seeking reviewers.
Across from Boston Common, nestled into the corner of a cobblestone mall, sits The Bookseller, a bookstore owned by a lovable rare book dealer and his wife, who runs a coffee parlor inside the store.
The parlor is the morning greeting place for business people from around the mall where the complementary coffee is hot and delicious, the croissants are a quarter and the lively banter is free. George and Elizabeth lead a happy life surrounded by many friends.
Their happiness is about to be shattered by a violent South American drug cartel with a new, high tech process for smuggling cocaine.
The Bookseller
I have the ePub file ready to go. Agree to write a review, give me your email address and I will send it.
Reviewers or not I'm happy to meet such a warm, friendly group. I hope that means I will not encounter a mob of angry villagers with torches and clubs when I leave.

I'm a stay at home mom of three. I homeschool two and the oldest- who's sixteen- just started college. I, like millions of people, am an unpublished writer. I just finished writing my first book last November. However, I swear that I'm here as a reader. (If this is too spammy, please spank my hand and tell me to delete it.)
I read all genres, except erotica. My GR challenge goal for 2015 is 400 books. So far, I've read 45. Due to life being crazy and taking time to write, I only read 339 books last year. I think that's the least I've read in my whole life, unless you count the years I couldn't read.
Favorite Book(s): Too many to list.
Favorite Book Genre: Literary
Favorite Author: Too many. Like favorite books, I don't think I could narrow it down even if I broke it down by genre and time period.
Favorite Color: Black (at least for clothes)
Favorite Food: Almost anything Asian
Any Pets: dog, bunny, husband, two sons
If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: Scotland, Greece, NYC
Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... I own 10,000+ (dead tree)books, plus a few thousand from my classroom library (I used to be a teacher.) And out of all of those books, I've read all but about 300-400.

Name- Missy
Age- 45 (yes, I'm old)
Status- married (to a virtual non-reader, no less!)
Country- US
Region- New England
Favorite Author- I'm fickle. It shifts constantly.
Favorite Genre- pretty much anything that grabs me and takes me for a ride. I'm a huge fan of the craft of writing and tend to read deeply more than for speed. If it's a quality read, I'm game!
Favorite color- purple. Always has been. It's one of the few constants in my universe. Clearly I was royalty in a previous life.
Fears- heights (and so I learned to rock climb), deep water (and so I learned to scuba dive), rejection (and so I put myself out there in a Goodreads group)
Loves- my 4 children, my husband, the beauty if a perfectly crafted sentence
Background- English major, political science minor in college (back when the dinosaurs roamed about), former reading specialist, title 1 teacher, club soccer coach and British Airways agent (prior to my current status as a stay at home mom)
Concerns about joining your group- will I be a good fit? (I don't read a book a day or travel the world, my brain has shriveled like a prune since becoming a parent so I may not be able to offer intelligent discourse, I'm not looking to compete about reading-only to share the joy of it)
One request- please be forewarned, I post almost exclusively from my phone which leads to a variety of typos and bizarre word insertions
Overall I'm looking forward to giving this group thing a try. You all sound lovely and I'm excited to see where this foray into new Goodreads territory will land me.
Happy reading!

Don't worry, everyone is good fit as long as they like reading. Not everyone reads a lot, but as long as they are reading we are happy. We don't really expect some great book discussions, but at least share your thoughts about a book from time to time.
You're not only one using phone. We are used to typos and bizarre word insertions (and I don't even have phone for excuse!) ☺
And remember we are here to have fun and to read. Those are only things important here. So have fun and read (preferably good) books.

Favorite Book(s): Vanishing Point-Jodi Picoult, Tart- Jody Gehrman, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix--J.K. Rowling, The Blackhope Enigma-Teresa Lavin, Deadlocked-Charlaine Harris, Go Ask Alice, Weetzie Bat-Francesca Lia Block

Favorite Color:Blue
Favorite Food: Currently, Belvita Bites & Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter
Any Pets: nope but lots of puppy friends.

Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because....I haven't stopped reading since I was 5 and can't be trusted in a book store

Birthday: Semptember 23rd
Favorite Book(s): Every book I finish seems to be my favorite, but one oI really like is "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".

Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Food: Probably pizza.
Any Pets: 2 guinea pigs and a dog.

Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... books are the reason I chose my university course!

(and that's my knowledge of German after 6 years of learning. *sigh* I need to pick that up again)

The mods will post a reading schedule once someone gets a book to break it down. It's usually about 50 pages per day but varies a bit based on chapter breakdown and font size and such. You can come and answer questions if you've already read the book or just respond to others. You can also skip questions that deal with things you already know because you're ahead of the current day.
Hope to see you there :)
