Joseph | 4 comments I read this book during middle school(2005-2007). I think it involved a prince going on a quest and meeting a blind quilt maker. The blind quilt maker would add a piece to a quilt slowly. The book cover had a quilt pattern and might have been tan. The author had a foreign name. The setting could have been in the desert. It didn't seem like an old book at the time. This is all I remember and I could have been wrong about a few things.

Joseph | 4 comments It doesn't have pictures and i don't think it is a happy book. The main character is male. The book is a novel and not a short story.

Joseph, can you tell us more about the prince - what was his quest? did he have companions? what did he learn or accomplish?

What about the quiltmaker - how old is she? how and where does she meet the prince?

Why is the book sad? (Spoilers are okay - just give us a clear warning before revealing a spoiler.)

Joseph | 4 comments The prince had a crew to help him out and I think his quest was to meet with the quilt maker to make the most beautiful quilt. The quilt maker is an old man. It could have a Persian or Arabic setting.
(Spoilers Below?)

I think he betrayed the quilt maker after it was finished. I think the quilt maker curses the prince and his crew.
