Hi! I'm Kyla, from Melbourne, Australia. I've set my Reading Goal to 160 books this year, but after much deliberation and many, many books, I've increased it to 200!
Hi All,My name is Liv and I'm 19 yrs old and from Australia. I have only just discovered goodreads this year (shame on me) and just love it. I have just come out of a massive reading slump that I went throw towards the end of high school. The book that got my out of the slump was six of crows :) I just loveddd the book. My reading goal is 50 books (which I am already 10 books behind) and I am currently on the 7th book. The challenge is going pretty slow cause the books I keep choosing are just meh. Meaning I am always up to hear reccommendations!
Feel free to add me :)

Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and I am from Canada. I am a huge book worm and loved YA novels, psychological thrillers, mysteries and other fiction novels. My goal is 50 for this year and I am catching up pretty quickly! Looking to meet new people and discuss books with others. Feel free to add me as a friend! :)
Hope to chat soon,
Michelle
So glad to have found this group- always looking for people to discuss literature with and to gather recommendations from!Mr name is Brittany and I am a junior high teacher in NY. I will try just about any book, as long as it is some type of narrative. I tend to read a lot of YA to connect with my students, but I tend to gravitate most towards fantasy and sci-fi in my personal reading.
I usually use Goodreads on my phone- I happened to log on on my desktop today and found this group while exploring the features! Lucky find!
I am repeating my goal of 25 books that I set and just missed last year. While I used to read much more throughout the year, time has been hard to find recently. As a teacher, I do more reading during the summer months, so I expect that is when I will be the most active in terms of participation in this group.
I look forward to engaging with you all!

Thanks for the welcome.
I've set it to 20 books but will up it to 50 at some point, as I'm about to hit it.
Hi everyone! My name is Emily and I am a Librarian in the Chicagoland area in the States. I, of course, love to read. I love challenges; they get me to read outside of what I might otherwise. I tend to get so excited about the new book that just came out that I might forget about that excellent book that came out a few years ago.
I read a bit of everything, but I will always read a book set in the UK, Gothic, Fantasy with a strong female lead, Literary, dealing with LGBTQ+ characters or history, or written by Zadie Smith, John Boyne, or referencing Virginia Woolf in some way.
I read ALOT, so this year, my yearly goal is 275. Goodreads tells me that I am on track. I am sure that some of the challenges here will help with this.
Thank you! And I can't wait to get started in this group.
Hi Everyone! My name is Jess, and I am Canadian. I have just recently fallen back in love with reading and I thought that joining goodreads would be a good way to connect with people who love books.
I am interested in historical fiction, fantasy and YA. Since I am just getting back into reading I set my goal of the year to 20 books, but I am sure I will be raising it as I am already halfway to my goal.

Hi hi hi! I'm Taasia and I'm from Malaysia and I love YA and am a sucker for a good contemporary. I found this group through my Goodreads friends and am so happy I did as I needed a place/thread to track my 2018 in reading. My reading goal is 100, but I put it as 72 as a placeholder on gr because I don't want to let reading stress me out.
Where are you from?- What kinds of books do you like to read?
- How did you find our group?
- What's your reading goal?
Hi everyone, I'm Vicky, a 32 year old accountant and post-grad student from Wales in the UK.
I live near Swansea in the valleys of South Wales.
I like to read all sorts, although I tend to stick to lit fic, speculative fiction, historical fiction and horror/thrillers. My favourite authors are Sarah Waters, Emma Donoghue, Joe Hill, Margaret Atwood and Michel Faber. I'm currently writing my dissertation, which is on Michel Faber.
I found this group from just perusing and finding out more about Goodreads and what you can do here.
My reading goal is 45 books, which at the moment I'm smashing, but I'm expecting things to slow down in the next couple of months because I'm going to be so busy!
Hi everyone! My name is Steph and I live in North Carolina (US). I am fairly new to goodreads and I have just recently fallen back in love with reading. I thought that joining this group would help hold me accountable and provide for some great conversation about books and I'm excited to be a part of it!
I am interested in contemporary fiction, historical fiction, mystery/thriller, but I'm going to try my hand at reading more nonfiction and more literary classics. Since I am just getting back into reading I set my goal of the year to 20 books, but hopefully I will be raising it!
Hi all,I’m a bibliophile through and through. I’ll read anything, but my fav author is Stephen King. I’m part of a f2f book club, but I still want more of a reading challenge. I expect to read 250 books this year.
I’m an avid fitness junkie and a trained PoundPro. I’m a literacy coach at a high school in the great state of Iowa where I always get to share books!
Thanks for welcoming me!

Hi everyone, My name is christiona I'm 22 years old. I'm originally from New Jersey but have just recently moved to Louisiana. I have always been a bookworm growing up, but once I went to college and started working I fell into reading slump. Well if you call 5 years a slump. But last month I started picking up books again and I've literally fallen madly in love with YA books again and hoping to continue discovering more books and people in the community

Hello hello! I am Samantha from Wisconsin. I like Romance, Young Adult, Romantic Suspense, Mystery, Fantasy kinda books. My favorite is the books that kinda have it all. I am new to Goodreads, I stumbled about the site (a few days ago) while reading a review for a book I was interested in. Then I just stumbled across page in the suggested area of groups and thought it'd be fun to join in.
My book goal for 2018 is to read 24 books this year. I have just completed my 8th book today. I started a little behind this year reading. I used to read a lot in high school but fell back and decided I would finally pick the habit back up as a way to relieve stress and it's been really helping. I just love how a book can just wipe away my worries.
I look forward to learning how to navigate this site and getting to know more fellow book lovers!

Hi, I'm Jesica and am from Virginia. I've always been an avid reader, although I went through a bit of a slump after college, but I'm back to my bookworm self these days :) My favorite genres are fantasy and literary fiction but I do enjoy most things I read, regardless of the genre. My goal started at 52 books but I'd met that by early April, so now my goal is 100 books. I'm sure I'll increase it as I go! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hey there!I am Hannah, 20 years old and from Germany. Like all of you I'm a bookworm and I recently started using Goodreads.
Currently I am travelling around the world by myself (it's been 9 Months now) and sometimes it can get pretty lonely but I have some good books with me to keep me company :)
Although I love travelling it doesn't leave me a lot of time to read. There's always something to see or do. Thats why I'm planning to read only 32 books in 2018, keeping my goal low :)
I'm mostly reading YA and Fantasy but I have a collection of Classics I want to read once I'm back home. I prefer reading in english instead of german.
Oh and I'm dreaming about having my own cozy library in my house, but who doesn't dream about that?! ;)
Cheers, Hannah

Hi Hannah welcome to the group and Goodreads! I think you will find that you are in great company with this group! Wow 9 months of travel do you have a favorite spot yet? Hi there!I'm Ginny and I currently live in southern Arizona by way of the Texas Hill Country via extreme southern California desert.
I don't really have a favorite genre. I'm kind of all over the place. I like history, historic novels, a little fantasy, science fiction, science non-fiction, and, on occasion, books that are just silly.
I decided a few weeks ago that I really need to read all those books that people say I need to read. So, I'm using GR to keep me organized. I started my list with some Classics (ancient Classics), some modern novels, and a whole slew of books, essays, and plays in between.
I've given myself a goal of 50 books this year. I started late; however, several pieces are just essays and not whole books. I think that's doable.
Hi! I'm not a new member but I've basically been on hiatus the last couple years reading War and Peace. Not much to comment on. Now that I'm finally done with it I can read other books on my nook!I'm from Lincoln, NE and really excited to get back into reading something else. I've finished 3 books on my nook since I finished War and Peace in February. Hope to talk to everyone more.
Welcome to the group everyone.Make sure you read your Welcome Message and our Monthly Message so that you can easily navigate our group!
