PtP - Reading Queens (4)

2. Team Captain - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)
3. Name your team. Using this round's theme of SNOW WHITE, come up with a fun name. We are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)
Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 7 March.
4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2.
5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!
* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.
You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.
I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.
Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.
6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation.
7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.
8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.
9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)
10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A Annoucement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.
The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week if Option 2 is used, members must select their book from another team. This will be advised in the week 11 announcement.

The format for selection posts Option 1:
Week #
Bookcover/link

How the book qualifies - please insert a link to the qualifying bookshelf/list.
If the theme is based off the bookcover or a letter in the title etc, please just repeat the theme.
The format for selection posts Option 2:

Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.
Format for completion posts:

Being in the mountains means we live in the boonies. We are on almost three acres and most of our time up here we haven't had any close neighbors, there is one now though. The big social activity is going to get the mail - we don't have mail delivery! It takes at least 45 minutes to get to the grocery store, on a good day. And any trip down into town is an hours long adventure - one I'm trying to talk myself into right now.
I read 99.99% romance, with a mix of MF and MM, but I need my happy ending! I read most sub-genres and actually make a point to get at least one CR, one HR and one PNR a month so I don't get bogged down in one type of story over and over. I tend to read at least 10 books a month, more if life cooperates. I find myself listening more than I read though - thank goodness for audiobooks!

I'm not the best at coming up with names, but here's my contribution so far:
Reading Queens
Whistle While You Read
I'll try to think up some more tomorrow. Looking forward to playing with all of you!

I’m Wishing, for a Book to Love
Behind Closed Dwarves
Grumpy’s Girls - or any of them
I had another one, but it’s gone. Maybe it will come back to me later.

So, I am Caipi, married, mom of three kids (16, 19 and 22 years old), two of them still at home. I'm from Germany and our time zone is UTC + 1, which means it'll be around midnight for me when Jane announces the new themes.
For some years now I have been reading exclusively MM, so I'm really sorry, but for Option 2 the MF readers won't be finding any books on my shelves.
As for our team name, so far I like of your suggestions Reading Quenns and Grumpy's Girls the most.
Wow MountainKat, where you're living sounds awesome and lonely at the same time. I can't imagine living this isolated. I don't think that there's even such a place in Germany at all. Too many citizens on too little land.

I'm Tink, I live in England with my other half, two kids (14 and 10) plus a range of animals. I read 99% romance but both MF and MM it just depends what mood I'm in on any given day.
I'm jealous of where you live Kat, it sounds ideal to me.
The only thing I can think of for a name is The Dopey Bookaholics

I'm Liz. One more Californian to add to the group, but I'm in Northern California, in a beach town called Santa Cruz. It's just me and my kitty in a condo these days. Nice to meet some new people and see a familiar face. *waves at Caipi* I mainly read m/m romance these days, but I thought this challenge would be a good opportunity to read some of the many mf books I have been neglecting.
I'm terrible at coming up with team names but I like some of the ones you've come up with, especially Reading Queens and The Dopey Bookaholics. 😊

So names that have been suggested so far:
Reading Queens
Whistle While You Read
I'm Wishing, for a Book to Love
Behind Closed Dwarves
Grumpy's Girls
The Dopey Bookaholics
It seems that Reading Queens has some support, as well as a couple others. Any more suggestions? If not, what is your favorite?

I also like Reading Queens. 😊

Reading Queens
Whistle While You Read
I'm Wishing, for a Book to Love
Behind Closed Dwarves
Grumpy's Girls
The Dopey Bookaholics
The Sleepy Bookaholics
If you don't have a a suggestion, then let us know your favorite. If all the teams are ready, we will get an early theme call!!

Also just realised I haven't introduced myself yet. I am Nikk and I live in Sydney, Australia, with my partner, my nearly 6 yearold daughter, two cats and 1 dog. I read mostly paranormal romance, cosies and a smattering of YA. I tend to read mostly M/F stuff though not averse to MM, I just haven't read much of it.I am on the outskirts of Sydney so it's quite semi rural which I love, though cpmmute into the city every day for work. It's the end of Summer here in in Australia (ok technically it is now Autumn) and it is still really hot and humid. I am looking at all the places that are getting snow at the moment and I just can't imagine it. I a a creature of the cold though much preferring it to our heat of summer.
This is my second PTP and I had so much fun last time, I had to play again :-)

Yay! I'm excited to start. I'm going through now and making sure I have books to read for each theme and they're on the appropriate lists.

Good idea, even if you don't have a closed profile. I should do that too...

Don't Look Back
Rating: 4 Stars
Review: I really enjoyed this book. The writing really drew me and I couldn't put it down. I was able to read it in one sitting (it was on the shorter side, so that helps). The pacing of the story was really good and the suspension kept building through out the story. I really enjoyed Peter as a character, and liked that the story stuck with his point of view. I would have liked just a little more story, not too much though, especially in the end.

I did! I definitely want to check out some more books by the author. If you have any other you would recommend, I'll gladly take them.

Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Her Adrien English series is probably her most popular. It's more of a mystery with a romance that builds through the series. It's really good, but my favorite of her series is All's Fair series which like the Adrien English series, follows the same couple through all the books. I liked this series better, I think, because I like the MCs more, but really, you can't go wrong with any of her books. A couple stand-alones I really like are Winter Kill and Stranger on the Shore. If you like audiobooks, the audios of all of these are really great.

Week # 1
Option: 1
Book: Like a Lover
Rating: 4 stars
Date Read:
Review: 8th March
Apart from the overuse of their names (which is a personal niggle I have with books), I really enjoyed this one. There was a lot of sex but it never got boring, even the misunderstanding was good, it added that little bit of angst. Looking forward to the next book.

Week #1
Books: House of Cards
Rating: 4 stars
Review: I love friends to lovers romances and Garrett Leigh books, so I was looking forward to this and it didn’t disappoint. Technically it was more like friends who drifted apart, became friends again and then lovers, but it totally worked for me. Both the MCs had serious issues to overcome but I never felt overwhelmed by angst as I can in some stories. I thought the friendship to romance was beautifully done and I loved seeing Callum figure out who he really is without his ex’s BS filling his head and Brix’s story was so well done too. I don’t want to spoil his big secret, because the way it comes out is really important to the story and the romance. All around winner from Garrett Leigh if you want a slow burn friends to lovers romance with some serious issues that doesn’t drown you in angst.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3,5)
Review:
A sweet addition to the series. :)
After moving into a shared flat, Dev, a sexual totally inexperienced, geeky first year physics student, agrees to give his new neighbor Ewan some math tutoring. In turn, Ewan agrees to help Dev work through his sex-to-do list.
So the start of their relationship is kind of awkward, but the feelings are growing fast.
The quite unusual start of their relationship was entertaining, but also felt kind of antiseptic to me in the beginning. So it took me a bit to get hooked, but then I really enjoyed reading Dev and Ewan's part of this series. Especially Dev is totally adorable!

We are in good shape though - all selection posts made and that is the important part. Only Nikk and I are outstanding with our completion posts - no pressure Nikk, just updating. I will update our tracking posts again this weekend.
But since I won't be here tomorrow, I won't be around when the next theme is announced. Feel free to post it if you want! Otherwise I will do it, but it might not be until Saturday morning. You don't have to wait to make your selection posts though.
Anyone have something they are hoping gets called? I'm just hoping one of my books works for whatever it is or I am going to get really behind this month!!
