The book is The Danger Within Us: America's Untested, Unregulated Medical Device Industry and One Man's Battle to Survive It. Terrifying stuff.
The interview with Jeanne Lenzer the author is listed here: https://www.npr.org/2018/01/17/578562...
Lemmed Voltaire's Bastards: The Dictatorship of Reason in the West by John Ralston Saul. It's actually the second time I've tried it. The first was 20 or so years ago. I think I understood it a bit more this time but I just don't agree with the author and didn't find it compelling to read at all. It's a shame because I got a lot out of The Doubter's Companion: A Dictionary of Aggressive Common Sense by the same author.Starting We Are Legion (We Are Bob).

I'm now about halfway through and enjoying it much more.
Finished with Marvel 1602. I liked it a lot, nice mash up of Marvel villains and heroes.Starting the 3rd PC Peter Grant book by Ben Aaronovitch, Whispers Underground. My 13th Sword book this year.
Finished Walkaway ★★★☆☆ which is my first Cory Doctorow book. It was OK, suffered a bit from using characters as sock puppets to express the authors's point of view. In the first half the book I felt like I was in a video game tutorial. Still listening to Oryx and Crake and about to start We Are Legion (We Are Bob) as the monthly read (Soulless is on order at the local library).
Finished up We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor. I didn't love it as much as others did. My review. Not sure what I'll read next.

I don't know if it's because I went too long between the books, if it just wasn't the right book for me at the time, or what. I may give it another go because I liked the first two so much.
I found the rest of the trilogy to be a long, slow grind that only rewarded close reading. You can't read this trilogy casually as important points might only be brought up once, in one or two paragraphs, a full book before the payoff. This trilogy helped me to decide to bail on series' if I wasn't enjoying it. I've been a completist most of my life, but this one was so hard for such a small payoff that I started to more seriously consider dropping a series after the first book.

The next book #6 comes out in ..."I made a Goodreads bookshelf called "Current Series" to help me keep track of all the series I'm reading. Does it help me actually finish series before starting new ones? No. LOL.
I recently finished Aloha from Hell and Devil in the Dollhouse on Audible, which made me really want to continue with the Sandman Slim series. I also read Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World which I loved. I had forgotten how much I enjoy Haruki Murakami.I'm now listening to Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch and while I'm enjoying it enough, it hasn't pulled me in like other Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman novels have. I'm hoping to really put some time into it this weekend only because I'm excited to listen to We Are Legion (We Are Bob) next.

I have a similar shelf. It has 45 books on it. >.<

I finished the (horror) non-fiction book (The Danger Within Us: America's Untested, Unregulated Medical Device Industry and One Man's Battle to Survive It). Wow. If this is what government does, I've clearly been doing my life wrong.I'm still (still) listening to Oathbringer, which I kind of want to finish before starting We Are Legion (We Are Bob) (mostly because I already have that in audio), though we'll see.
I'm not sure what's next in print/Kindle. I have a couple of paper books that might be interesting.
I finished The Immortalists and I LOVED THE HELL OUT OF IT.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Wow, you really did like that. I know people who would like that book, too, so now I have a new recommendation for them. :)
Just before the month ends ...I read The Churn. Not my favourite of the Expanse novellas, but I do love that the authors give us these little extra nuggets to flesh out the universe. A quick win for my Laser reading challenge goal (which is starting to look a little optimistic).
Also finished Moon Over Soho, the second Rivers of London book. After two books the characters and setting are starting to feel very comfortable and familiar. Will definitely continue with the series soon.
Last night I finished The Summer Tree. It was a quite interesting and surprising story. It looks like I have another series that I'm going to have to read at some point. For now, though, I'm going to pause for a few days, and then start on something lighter...

Full disclosure... I read the thing in an evening and while it's decent, I don't get all of the over the top kudos. It's not that funny, frankly and while I liked it... it's a 3 star book for me.
