Help! I started in the dumbest place ever

I read The Well of Ascension first, I listened to a lady at the book store ... I don't know what book to read next.

I could use some opinions.

Maybe if you have free time, read the final empire and then skim the second book and then read the hero of ages.

I find it odd that a bookstore employee would suggest a series but have someone start out of order. Maybe she confused herself because the first book is now called The Final Empire and thus she thought it must be the last one because of the word “final”?

Anyway, you should be okay! You may be a little bored with learning the mechanics of allomancy in TFE (unless you were confused by it), but you should read TFE next since you’ll understand a lot of people’s motivations and see their great character development.

Diana et al are exactly correct. I would say you may even want to jump to a different sanderson series so you distance yourself a bit... but that is just plain crazy.

That's a good idea. Maybe forget some details by the time you get back to it.

haha thanks folks. I'm just going to call "the Final Empire" an epic prequel to the first book "Well of Ascension". I'll read it next really really fast and hop back to the last book. They kept talking about the fall of the Final Empire and I'm like yeah tell me more about that story line ... I can't wait for them to tell me more about her mysterious takedown of the final empire. Haha I'm such a dummy.
