This book was published in the last 12 years. A mystery, starts in NYC. Young man finds photos or film of a woman. A woman is missing... I think. Setting then moves to upstate New York where guy has to explore a booby-trapped old abandoned building in the woods. This was a nail biting climax! Maybe there is a secret club/group that is making films. Felt like a Donna Tart mystery. I think it was the author's first book.
