SOLVED. YA Book with Green Cover and a selective mute as a main character. [s]

Hey ya'll,

I remember reading this book back in 2008/2009ish about a boy and a girl who were in some sort of dorm setting. The boy was a selective mute and communicated through notes. The girl was his best friend or something like that. I think it ended with them getting together. I'm pretty sure the book had a green cover and for some reason the words black and white are asscociated with it in my head. If anyone remembers this book,please let me know!!
