I finished my reread and enjoyed this one a lot. I think it might be my favorite of the series.

Luke-Annabeth thoughts: (view spoiler)[I thought this was all a bit irksome. Did he want to know if she loved him in a romantic way? Because that seems to be the implication, but she was seven when they met and he was a teenager, so I'm not ok with that. And thinking of him as a brother doesn't mean that she didn't love him...That part was just off to me. (hide spoiler)]

Luke thoughts: (view spoiler)[I did like that the prophecy was more about Luke than Percy. One of the children of the big gods had to be involved, but things didn't actually hinge on them. Which makes the pact between the big three a moot point anyway, since it turned out it wasn't one of their kids with the fate of Olympus in hand. (hide spoiler)]

Percy and his parents: (view spoiler)[I loved that Percy referred to his mom and Paul as his parents. The relationship there was really nice to see. He wasn't constantly thinking of his mom and stepdad, but of his parents. It's nice to see a positive stepparent relationship. (hide spoiler)]

Percy and Annabeth: (view spoiler)[These two are cute together. I like that there was some drama with them, but that they always liked each other. Because I didn't ever feel that Percy was actually interested in Rachel. He liked her, but I never felt that he thought there was anything more than friendship there. (hide spoiler)]

This was great overall.

Idk just all of that grudge-holding in the book we first meet him. After that I kind of just wanted to finish the series, didn't pay 100% attention XD

So much action happened and I don't really want to comment everything but what I would put out is that Medusa's death was kinda anticlimactic.
12 year old boy killed one of the fiercest monsters in the Greek mythology so easily. Sureee (hide spoiler)]

Also I remember now that I watched a Percy Jackson movie. There almost no one knew about Thalia. Now I'm glad that the story is slightly different. And I hate that it made me spoil the book, it's so much better.

Chapter 1 - 6 (view spoiler)[ I swear I read this book before, yet I forgot half of the events that happened. I wonder how Percy (or Grover) knows what a skunk eating Mexican food smells, but apparently, they know. Honestly, nothing more brings me joy than imagining Grover hiding from a Cyclops by dressing in a wedding dress--love the humour of this book. (And Clarissa is more pleasant than I remember, she isn't actually a straight-up bully she was in the first book). The new camp activities director is a jerk though (glad he can't eat actual food). (view spoiler)[So many things have happened geez, firstly I'm happy that Percy's mother is living nicely! And I pity Tyson so much, it isn't his fault he's a cyclops after all.

I always hated Tantalus, only because of my childhood were my older brother used to mess me up and kept saying "Now you'll see what Tantalus's troubles are"

Anyhow, Grover in a dress running away from my huge Cylcops made my day.

I'm loving this book so far as well. Clarisse's change from book 1 is nice as well. And Tyson isn't probably dead (I HATE I WATCHED THE MOVIES BEFORE THE BOOK. Can't say how many times I repeated that while reading it. It became a mantra)

Chapter 7 - 12 (i have been slacking off) (view spoiler)[ Now I remember why I like Clarisse. But honestly, it's just loads of fun. I forgot about 90% of the humour, and I like Tyson better than the first time around. And all the subtle hints are so nice! Plus mentally I'm retitling this book to 'Percy Jackson and the Wedding Crashers'. It's cool that Percy actually has those sea powers, and that Hydra's spawn doughnut shops, and Clarisse's steam-engine ship manned by a skeleton (my pun game is strong) crew (which is either blown to pieces or eaten by whatshername). Chapter 13 - 16 (view spoiler)[ Well, Polyphemus isn't picky. First, he wants to marry Grover, then he decides that Clarisse is worthy of being his wife and if his eyes weren't set on Clarisse, he probably would have picked Annabeth. The return of Rainbow was nice, the Hippocampus, in general, were cool (I would love to have a half-horse, half-fish for a ride. They seem so nice. I really want to hug Annabeth, poor girl. She can't catch a break, can she? (hide spoiler)]

This book was really enjoyable. I loved Tyson, and Clarisse. And the ending, I was so shooked the first time. It's such a good ending. (hide spoiler)]
