I loved that whole Calypso part. I remember Oddyseus landing on that island in The Oddysey when we read it for classics back at school. I love how Percy's basically a reincarnated Oddyseus, what with visiting Polyphemus in book 2, Circe in book 3 and now Calypso. (hide spoiler)]

Finished! Review: Just like the other books, this one made me crack up. Just so many funny comments. It's such a great middle-grade story :D And the lack of romance just makes it really focus on the adventures and the friendships, and it's amazing. I love the return of (view spoiler)[Rachel, I knew she hadn't disappeared. (hide spoiler)] Once again, the introduction of an Ancient Greek hero as a character was amazing. I couldn't imagine being able to have a conversation with someone from that time. How special! I loved that whole Calypso part. Ooh I've never read The Odyssey but now I really want to! I was so heartbroken over the Calypso chapter.
