I really wanted to love this book and am disappointed that I didn't. Has anyone been to see the movie yet? The trailers make it seem more action packed than the book. The book was written in simpler times...maybe just too young for me :-)
This was a slow book. I thought these chapters might have more going on, but was disappointed. I also thought that is just kind of ended. There was anything leading up to the end or anything. Maybe I should have read this book as a child and would have liked it then. It was to simple for me today.

I am sure if I read this as a kid I would've loved it but it didn't do much for me reading it now. I just made plans to see the movie next weekend with my sister and 12 year old niece so I'm looking forward to that. I am hoping they add some layers to the story and that along with cool visual effects could make it really good.
I also felt like it was a little slow for adults. But I was surprised that the author discussed some quantum physics ideas that I would think were above the heads of her audience. Also, considering the book was first published over 66 years ago (JFK was President at the time) it was pleasantly surprising to see a female main character in what is essentially a Science Fiction book.
