Brandon Leasr | 7 comments The book is about a group of "debt collectors" sent to a colony on another planet. The colony was funded by a private company, and the company sends out a ship to collect a return. The colonists eventually grow tired of paying to this company and fight back. The story centers around one of the "debt collectors" and he has a change of heart as the story unfolds.
(there is no fantasy like stuff such as magic in this story)

Andy | 2124 comments How about "The Great Explosion" (aka "And then there were None") by Eric Frank Russell The Great Explosion

"Gand is composed entirely of some tribe of libertarian anarchists, who don't cotton to authority. So deeply do they loath the idea of uniformity or regimentation that there isn't even a common style of clothing. Every intrusive question is answered "Myob*!", and attempts to physically coerce the Gands is met with civil disobedience. One exploring sailor on his bicycle, out of uniform, manages to discover what makes the Gands tick. Close to the Gandian heart is cooperation; they don't even use money, instead using a barter system of favors, or "obs". ."

Brandon Leasr | 7 comments No sir. This books main character arrives via spaceship with others like him from Earth to "accept payment" for the private company that funded them to settle there. The main character wears a tough armor like exterior along with his cohorts. One colonist shoots one of the men in the head as they walk though the town. as the story progresses, the main character starts having second thoughts about his mission. --thanks!

Bobby (bobbyb-aka-plarry) | 37 comments This plot description roughly fits the outline of Fallen Dragon by Peter F. Hamilton, although that book has much more going on it than that.
