Ch 7 - (view spoiler)[ I was into it the first few chapters. I mean the mysterious kid that saves her from drowning when she is young and then shows up on table in a lab later. Alright. Ooo and then there is the telepathic connection thing. Ok. But now she's using her naked body to warm him up and is about to force her blood down his throat, and all in the span of what? 6 hours after meeting him again?? cliche much? (hide spoiler)]

Ch 19 - (view spoiler)[ Duh! Unprotected sex for weeks on end = ?? Can no one keep their wits about them when there is a large penis in the room? Seriously, it never crossed either of their minds?? (hide spoiler)]

Ch 31 - (view spoiler)[ Not that I wouldn't believe that our government would respond the way they did throughout this story, but the President's POV just annoys me with its presence. Do we really need it? No.

Now that Naura has had some of Tony's blood, does she seem like she is spending any time in his mind? (hide spoiler)]

Finished - (view spoiler)[ Whew, so Abbie is safe from the virus but everyone in the US is still in danger. Abbie happens to be a virologist, but not once has she even asked for a microscope to lend her brain to the problem. And how fast was this baby born? It made it sound like it was on a faster gestation period when what's his name examined her. Sounds like they've all just been sitting around watching her belly grow and not dealing with any of the other problems out there. (hide spoiler)]

Alright, it isn't awful. Funny, given the description of the book, I thought the majority of the book was going to take place in Area 51. I guess the storyline we got was just as interesting. I think it could have been executed a little better, but since it is just book one in the series, I'm willing to blame it on that and see what happens next.

Ch 13 - (view spoiler)[ I like where the story is going with Naura and Tony. I like that he is hurt and holding back and we know she is going to "fix" him with her love. Although, she does seem very passive and demur sometimes and then others she is demanding - it kind of throws me off with regard to her character.

Why do they keep trusting Henry? He is a bad guy! I know he is Abbie's dad, but he rarely acts in her best interest. If he is still alive at this point in the conflict, why can't they just leave him alone? (hide spoiler)]

Ch 24 - (view spoiler)[ Just when we are getting somewhere, Naura has to whip out the V card. I get why Tony put on the brakes, but maybe he should have explained a little better as to why?? No wonder Naura feels slighted. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 38 - (view spoiler)[ Oh sure, Naura is all mad and I never want to see you again, until stuff starts blowing up and then it's "Tony!". I hope she makes it back ok, though I bet Tony will have to rescue her again at some point soon.

Is it possible that Miguel is an illegitimate kid of the King?
It would explain why he can talk to them telepathically and why the king trusts him. Just wondering. (hide spoiler)]

Finished - (view spoiler)[ Well, again we don't really have a conclusion to the outbreak crisis and they are no closer to solving it. It is my biggest peeve with this book. I guess we are set up to see something happen in Book 3: Abbie says she wants to get back to science (of course, she said something similar in book one and nothing happened in this book), Vaulcron is set up to have an affair with the news reporter (if she is a good reporter, she will at least stir the pot on the CDC/virus relationship), and I wonder how the cartel will fit into any of this (why bring them up if they aren't going to play a future roll). I'll hold off on Book 3 until you catch up and let me know if you want to continue. The series is just average for me, but I will continue if you want to.
