I'm kinda rolling my eyes now... I finally read some more... they made it to the club, and Kelly met Al... doesn't help that I read your ending spoiler :)

This really is a poor man's BDB. And something that's really annoying me, besides their names, (cuz really??I mean Gig? Car? Utah? Rap? Tor? Omfg have a smigeon of creativity please) was that they're all 65M yrs old? Um.... I googled all these dinosaur species (as the author could have) because all of these large carnivores couldn't have lived at the same time. Some of them are 145M years old. Basically they all lived at different times. And I get that T Rex was 65M so for Ty to say it is one thing, but Fin says it while talking to all of them. They're all of different ages. Some double the others. Little things like that just really annoy me. Though it's not like that's the only eye rolly thing about this book ;-)

I don't think I'll be continuing the series. Too much eye-rolling involved :p If you guys want to keep going, I'll patiently wait for the next series :)
I'm behind on this thread & the book... I basically need audio or to love a book to read it fast on kindle... so I'm fine with moving on to another series...
Only other thing I have on my radar is Telepathic Space Pirates... basically a sci-fi/PNR hybrid... it's reverse harem tho... I read the prequel novella last year that was just a regular MF story... the 2nd full length book just came out and some fans over in another group were buddy reading it and trying to get me to join (was too busy)...
But really, I prefer the slighty more UF story-focused books like Georgina Kincaid, if you guys have anything like that on your TBR...

I'm haven't read a lot of UF so it's more finding books that both you and Diana haven't read yet :p I'll see if I can find something.
EDIT: I created a shelf with pnr/uf books both of you haven't read yet :https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
To be honest, I skimmed through the synopsis during this lazy search ^_^ Anything appeal to you in particular?
I mean... if you want to try something me and Diana have already read, I'd be up for re-reading Kate Daniels... might put a kink in the book 9 re-read in August, but a full series re-read would be even better, leading into the finale at the beginning of September... assuming you like the 2nd / 3rd book... (everybody tends to agree the 1st book is the weakest... my biggest problem is the plothole in the middle)...
Looking at your list... I'm pretty anti-Feehan... I read the first 5 GhostWalker books, and have heard mixed things about her Dark/Carpathians series... I started a Lilith Saintcrow book once, and never made it very far, but I can't remember which one... whichever one involved being teamed up with a demon that wants to seduce her...
I also tried Midnight Breeds at some point, but it was too similar to Black Dagger Brotherhood for me... back when I read BDB...
That's my problem with UF/PNR... I've either read it or have Opinions already :)
At one point or another, half those books were on my TBR, and were removed during my TBR cleanings...

Yeah, I realized that while looking for possible reads. I ended up adding every PNR/UF book that you didn't mark as read since there were so few xD

I'm at 90%. I'll finish tonight. I am def not continuing. I'm giving it 1 star cuz I started to massively skim to finish. I have SO many issues with this book. From the instalove to the tell and not show to the horrible sex scenes (I've forgiven other eye rolly adult books before because at least they deliver where you expect, but even the sex scenes here were the worst, least sexy scenes ever. Not even foreplay. Just take off your shirt, bang for a bit, the end). Anyway, this book had nothing positive going for it, imo.

I wouldn't mind rereading KD. I can skip the group reread and just read it when I get there with you guys. I love this series so so much.
Me too... this'll be my 3rd or 4th read... my faves are the endings of 3/6/9... never too long between greats...
We can start Magic Bites before I finish Eternal Pleasure, if you guys want... I have the entire KD series on audio from my last readthrough...
Hoping to be relatively caught up by Wednesday/Thursday... currently reading Percy Jackson, then I need to quickly read the last Charm of Magpies book, a Bookburners episode, and Wrath of Empire... then I'm available for Kate Daniels and Rithmatist, I think...

I have BRs for Witcher #2 and Rithmatist coming up but after that, I'm game :D
My August is pretty full (damn it, I overbooked myself again :/) so I probably won't be able to binge KD like I did the second half of Georgina Kincaid.

Kate is def one of my top 3 fav PNR heroines. I seriously love everything IA writes.

Oh my lord. You sweet, summer child. I think this thread is about to turn into the Ilona Andrews thread. We have Kate Daniels, The Edge, The Innkeeper Chronicles, Hidden Legacy. Am I missing any? We'll make a (wo)man out of you yet.
For the record, I didn't like a lot of things about magic bites. I didn't read on. Then a random UF post I didn't met with an overwhelming outpouring of "KEEP GOING - IT GETS AMAZING!!" so I did. And it did. ^_^
I'm just sayin moderate your expectations for this first book.
Btw, I also loved the novellas, so this is one series where I think those are worth reading.

And I read most of the novellas, too :-) I missed 1 or 2 that my online library didn't have at the time, but I might go back to them since I now have a membership to a larger library selection than I did back in the day.

Um... when do you want to start? I think Virginie and Iain are busy through July. So sometime in August? It's really flexible. I'm waiting for the first person to tell me they're ready to read and then I'll start :-)

I will wait for Virginie and Iain to confirm.

Or I can wait if that's too soon. We're kind of winging it here :p
I'm available anytime after the next few days... the beginning of August will probably be worse than the end of July, but I'll make do...
Finally went and fleshed out my August BR tracker and it isn't as bad as I thought, I don't think... I've backed out of so much, lately, and haven't added too many replacements, so I'm down to 12 BRs and all the flexible mini-threads I'm in... this one, the weekly romance one, the historical one, and Iniya/Manju's Dresden Files thread... and Bookburners, but those take about an hour when I get around to them...
So I'm open to starting as soon as you guys are ready, but August isn't the overwhelming flood the last couple months have been, for the first 10 days... I don't even have anything until the 4th...

And then there's the Curran POV Collection which is available for free from the author website: http://www.ilona-andrews.com/curran-p...
It's a collection of scenes from Curran's POV from mostly the early books of the series... best read around book 5-6, I think, since some of the scenes reveal info you shouldn't know yet...
