PNR Buddy Reads ♥

Your notes are exactly the same thoughts I had while reading it. Each one lol. I too am team Seth cuz I love nerdy book lovers. And as an introvert, extroverts intimidate me and extroverts are quiet and chill enough not to scare me away.
(Open after big reveal, 80-85% mark I think) (view spoiler)
I wonder what you guys will think of book 2-3... I rated this one 5 stars as well, I think... but it lost a star per book, and I dropped after book 3...

I'm finding this a trend in books I've been reading. Esp light PNR books. But so far the series had a good start for me. I'm interested.

Ah! We really belong in the same team :D
I liked both Seth and Roman but, as a fellow 'nerdy book lover', I can't help but support Seth.
Spoilers in case Sha is reading: (view spoiler)

Are we going to read the next one together? I'll probably continue with the series cuz I liked this book.

"
Yes! I'm up for continuing with the series!
Do you still want to read The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories too? I think you mentioned wanting to join in at some point.

Yeah I'd like to join that one. Is there a buddy read thread set up for it? If I don't put it on my tracker I completely forget about it.

I guess it's a good thing I pre-fill that spreadsheet with what I plan to read haha. I would have gotten lost in my TBR otherwise ;)
When do you want to read it? It's very short so we could do it anytime I guess.

Yeah, I think this month I have shorter books mostly and I seem to be caught up (except still need to finish All Together Dead from last month but that one's short and I should be done tonight). So I'm willing to work with your schedule.

Whoops, I somehow missed your comment. Would next Monday (April 9th) work for you? Or is it not enough time to find a copy of the book?

:D Thanks. I may not have the time to join this one though; things are a little busy here. I'll keep officially denying dropping out till the deadline is over, though.
If I can get a copy, I am definitely in for Bloody Chamber. Fairytale retellings are my Kryptonite.

Look, I'm just saying Martin should have thought this through.

Lol, agree. I'm assuming they get more than just sex. Just the succubus's part in all of it is the sex part so maybe we don't see the rest?

Yeah I can probably swing that.

I sure hope so. Especially since it lasted 5 minutes lol

I'll ask for the thread then. It'll be great if you can join us Sha :D

6 minutes. Don't underestimate the boy ;-)

Hope yo are right, for Martin's sake. Heh. XD
I really like this book so far it's light and fun and it makes all kinds of sense, which is nice. Also, I may be getting slight Aziraphale-Crowley (Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch) vibes from Jerome and Carter.
Also Georgina is such a fangirl and hyperventilates at the thought of a new book in the series being written. I can relate.
I'll be happy to join Bloody Chamber, I cry happily, as a disembodied voice in my head shouts "YOU SAID THERE WOULD BE NO BUDDY READS THIS MONTH YOU MASOCHISTIC LITTLE SHIT" at me.
(No really, It's a short book. I'll be fine.)

You'd think that would be a given for a novel, but alas, that it not always so.

Ditto. I'm kind of thankful none of my favorite authors are that attractive or I'd make an even bigger fool of myself than normal meeting them.
Also, I think we have the same voice living in our heads. Tell her I say hi.

I think I would just turn mute and all red. Like a pet fish. Especially if they're attractive.
And yup. Got that voice (among others) in my head. Let's start a club ;)

I've only met Sanderson I think. Or at least he was the only one I went nutso over. The first time was checking into my hotel and he was checking in behind me. Boy did I embarrass myself. You would have thought I was a 14 year old meeting Backstreet Boys. I cringe thinking about it.

I'm quite excited, the first one was very good!

Is someone else reading it?

I have her books and I'd like to read them with you.

Sure! What series do you have? Lords of the Underworld?

Oh! Lords of the Underworld I believe has been on my tbr for a while. I'd be up for that.
I need to finish Morning Star. Hopefully will finish it tomorrow and start this one on Wednesday. I'm very behind in like ALL of my books. More so this month than most.

So, I believe we have our next series after Georgina Kincaid! :D

Yeah, you're not the only one... Did I mention I started Crooked Kingdom at the same time you did? Yeah, more than a month ago... :p

For me that's problematic. If it takes me too long to read something, or I spend too long away from a book, because I have so many other books going on, I start forgetting. I'm trying to not read too many at a time and not to take long breaks away from books now.

I was only reading one book at a time before I joined this group in January. Well, 2 with the audiobook.
Now, I usually have 5 going at once... And some mangas. I don't really forget even if it takes me a long time to read. Not to brag, but I've got a good memory (and I sometimes wish I didn't. I very rarely re-read anything because it's too fresh in my memory) but I do loose interest after a time.
That's what's happened with Crooked Kingdom. It's not a bad book but... I didn't care enough about the characters to read this book instead of another :o I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have picked it if it weren't for the BR.

I went and looked. I'm scared. Will you join and make it worse? :D :D

Chapters 1-3: (view spoiler)[
A good start. A witty main character that does not follow the "I'm gorgeous but I don't realize it" trope :)
It was so obvious the nervous guy was the author. That line about becoming a love slave in exchange of ARCs though -> me with Sanderson (well, if he weren't married...)

I'll type the rest of my thoughts tomorrow :)
