Help! How do I upload a new book cover?

I've been trying to upload a new cover for one of my books, but if I try to delete the old cover it tells me that only librarians can do this. I'm going round in circles. Does anyone know how to upload a new cover?

If its on Amazon, change the cover there first. Give it 12 hours, then refresh the GR link. Only guessing.

Alternatively, ask the librarian to change it for you!

A librarian will add the new cover as an alternate. The old cover shouldn't be deleted.

There are several librarians in the group (including me). So if you put a link to the new cover one of us will sort it for you.

Create a new version of the book. Go to the book's home page. click on show all editions. switch to the edition that shows the new cover.

Thanks. But it doesn't show the new cover/edition. If I upload it as new book then won't I lose all my reviews etc?

If you go on the book page for the new book you'll see a box in the top right corner that says: upload new cover. Upload it from your pc. When it has an image, select that version. Then combine both editions, which will link reviews etc. to both versions.

Should have said you need to select the new edition and then select edit, because that edition is already created. Then you can upload the image.

Once it's all done you will need to select make this cover the primary edition, assuming you want it to be.

I've added the new edition, but not sure how to combine them. There is a button that says 'change edition' but I'm afraid to touch it in case I foul things up.:(

I've combined the editions for you, and think I have switched the new cover to be the primary edition. It'll take a while for the change to show.

I don't find this website all that easy to navigate. It was so easy to change the cover on all the other websites.

The new cover edition is there, although the old cover shows first - I think it is something to do with how many people have shelved the other edition.

My new cover changed OK.

Went onto the book page. Selected the new version. Went into edit and made it the primary version. It changed straight away.

I can't see an option to set it as the primary edition. Where did you find that David?

Select the book you want to be the primary edition. Then go to edit. There's a yellowish coloured tab on the right marked 'upload an ebook'
below that in small text is on option marked 'set this book as the primary edition…'

Mine didn't say 'primary edition'. I think it said 'other edition'.

I think only the author can do that.
