Just a historical note for captivities: Most rebels either got shot in the fight or shortly after, of the 82 who did survive the first day of being captive, only seven were sentenced to an execution. Most got off with a short prison sentence. :)

I'm honestly not implying anything or wanting to alter anything, I just occasionally come across tidbits of information XD

OK! So just wanted to write down the demise of my characters and flesh out the ideas more hehe

Mathis - dies. So I’m planning to have this part in the jail, where Rozene and Mathis have a moment of reconnection and all sibling banter but then *foreshadowing* Rozene jokes that she will most likely be killed for foolish throwing herself in situations. But Mathis goes all stony face and says ‘not if I throw myself before that bullet’ or something along those lines (still trying to make it a good foreshadowing situation). Any who! Fast forward to the barricades, Rozene, naively, is present as a ‘nurse’(?), tending to the falling men and trying to patch them up for them to continue the fight etc. whilst attending someone (almost going to try), she notices a powder keg and a touch being thrown from the other side. Mathis sees this and pushes her out of the way. She collapses (gets knocked out?) just as the keg explodes. And yeah…

Leandre - manages to survive in the barricades but watches as the revolution starts to fall around him. Here he has a bit of a monologue on his existence, etc. But at the same time it fuels him to continue to uphold what is left. Sadly gets captured by soldiers. His father finds out of his role in the revolution and the financial fraud. Strips Leandre of his name, title everything, not willing to fight for his son. Instead he tells the officers of Leandre’s abuse of the financial records and how he worked against his own father. Gets executed.

Rozene - survives physically scrapes and bruises but mentally weakened from the event (the tricoteuses???). Rozene basically watched a bloodbath and gets a pretty late reaction of horror and shock. (I haven’t thought of her role in the future, but thinking she just goes downhill?? Idkkkk)

Also, does anyone else feel like the barricade is getting closer and closer? Like, I feel like the tension is beholding and the water of battle is building and building and I genuinely expect to see a thing saying it’s started every time I come on here and see someone’s posted in Lemarque’s funeral or plotting or anything like that

Ah yes, the glories of murder.

So last time I made a good and proper update was a long while back and I decided we were in October-November-ish and I feel like now we're in December-January-February-ish? (also completely random but it might be adorable to have the crew residing @ Mme. Monne's go out to midnight mass for Christmas, just as a little happy scene before we slay them XD) SO YESSS SOO CLOOSSSEEE Especially since we'll be doing a big time skip in there somewhere.

So re: plotting once more... I feel like we have a pretty good rough sketch on how to murder/save our darlings. Percy & Archard barely survive the Rue Ste. Marie barricade and come to the Carpe Horas to look through the bodies and find Enjolras where he got shot (sweet child) and take him to a private doctor (maybe the one who delivered him ahahaha) so that he isn't arrested. Marius is taken by Valjean to his Grandfather's, Nechole is taken by Matelote across the street. Again, on the subject of captivities/ executions: Most rebels were killed, not captured, and of the 82 who were, only seven were executed, so there's a pretty great chance at least Paige (being a woman and all) would get out of jail scot-free. If Jasper had extra charges poised against him his chances would sink considerably, poor boy.

Anyway, post barricades ideas (jus' mine, edit them for all y'all are worth!)- Enjolras wakes up to find his dad (please forgive the poor guy, Enj, please) and Percy, and he informs them Nech is dead. (ANGST.) Meanwhile Acel is searching everywhere for body lists etc., is informed Percy & Archard are missing, as well as hearing reports that everyone on the Carpe Horas barricade died. In his attempt to at least find Nechole & Matelote's bodies, the poor lonely guy walks past the home in which they took shelter, and Matelote sees him. yay fluffy part that'll probably make me cry. Anyhoo, he tells the girls that Archard & Percy are prob. dead too, when Nechole probably hoped neither one was fighting. Nech decides she's an orphan now and steels herself for a rotten life. Acel leaves to continue his body hunt and crashes into Percy, tells him where the girls are, more fluff. There's this gradual regrouping period in which people try to find people, Paige is found of the jail and pried out by Enjolras and maybe Max, who has some strings to pull?

An' everybody lives bittersweetly ever after.

okay I'm just gonna add to this and like I want to maybe try and deal (before the bittersweetly ever after) and maybe during/before the reunions we have the survivors dealing with the fact that they lived?? Probably just cause I'm super excited to try and see how Enjolras would be if he wasn't the martyr he originally was and always, deep down assumed he would be, yknow??

Oh yeah OBVIOUSLY and honestly watching that Enjolras part is what 99% of this group is desperate for at this point. And all of this'll probably take lots of time and will also be seriously altered as we do it ahaha.

AIGHT, FOLKS.

So, if Tabi is actually alive (seriously, m'lady, you, you, also you, and your brilliant writing of Enjolras are the pegs this group hangs upon), here's what needs to be done pre-barricade. We were in winter when we dropped off, we have to get to June.

- Nechole returns to her estate.

(we'll make this fast - a quick summary wrap-up with Jail & Musain II threads, then, from Musain II, a quick farewell & all Bon Lindet drama will exit the play).

-At least one Acel visit to Paris & ensuing letters.

(Quick rp, again, hopefully.)

- Actual plotting with our barricade boys (!)

(we need to pull in all the unmade, canon Amis as well.)

- Prep for barricades & reunion as our exited characters return for the finale

- Roleplay as outlined in the Funeral of Lamarque/Schedule threads.

That's the fastest & most streamlined RP route I can think of in keeping with our already absolutely whack timeline. This means no fluff RPs on the side & a great deal of dedication. XD But if our end goal is barricades as fast as possible . . .

The poor girl is just looking for honesty & stability & landed in a revolution 😂 I do think that’s why she likes him so much - she thinks she’s all aboard with adventure & revolution & such, but at the end of the day she just wants to be safe & loved.

Also, the Revolution is speeding so much up relationally- Acel takes an average of two years to discover his feelings, but with the “oh no I have to leave Paris forever now” & “oh no we might all be killed now” his poor befuddled brain is running a LOT faster. XD

Ooh yes. I think they're not the one & only for each other, & will definitely have some ups & downs in their relationship, but at the end of the day they have the same experiences, goals, & understanding, & that's the important thing. Not every ship is perfect, but that's realistic, & their happily-ever-after will be just as lovely as, say, Acelote's. XD

I think it's going to be that way for everyone! & also part of why we find war stories & heroes so appealing, despite the absolute horror that is the experience - it brings things out of people that don't ordinarily have space to be shown.

Acelote is perhaps the sweetest, purest ship in this entire conglomeration of pairings we've put together ahaha

oh yeah and, for writers, it gives us so many opportunities to reveal and explore those character pathways xD
