Carolyn Scheidies | 8 comments I have an author page that I can access and add to. (Haven't figured out how to change what books are upfront. The ones listed have been out of print for two decades. Need help with that, too.) This is under Carolyn R. Scheidies

Somewhere--and I am brand new to Goodreads so didn't seek a page earlier--another page has me as Carolyn R (no period) Scheidies. I cannot access this one. However, it lists my two latest books--with a five-star review.

How can these two be merged or something done to get my books all on the same page,, literally? I am frustrated. Hope someone can help.

Abcdarian | 26579 comments No worries Carolyn; it can all be done. I'll move the books to your profile and combine the editions. Because of caching it will take perhaps a couple of days for all the reviews to combine, but they will.

The books that are automatically imported from Amazon come without the period in your name; I don't know if you can have them correct the situation or if you will need to keep an eye for more of them in future, but moving books to the correct profile is one of the most common things we librarians do here.

Abcdarian | 26579 comments OK, books moved & combined and I added all the missing covers I could find on Amazon.

If by "what books are upfront" you mean on your author profile, I believe the top 10 most often shelved on Goodreads are the ones that appear there, but there are two links to more of your books on that page, one above and one below the 10 listed. As the newer books are shelved by more readers, they will move up.

Carolyn Scheidies | 8 comments You have been working. Thank you so much!
Is there any way to separate out of print books from newer releases? So many of the books are no longer available.
Who can even tell which are my latest books?

message 5: by Abcdarian (new)

Abcdarian | 26579 comments There's no way to separate them, but we (or you) can add a note at the top of each description section saying the book is out of print. If you'd like a librarian to do the edits, we'd need a list of which ones.

By sorting on original publication year: https://www.goodreads.com/author/list...

Carolyn Scheidies | 8 comments I've been looking over some of my books. You've already done so much. I admit I am overwhelmed.

Here's the list of my out of print books I found.
Out of print editions: New editions have new covers and new ISBN #)

Barbour editions

Black Hawk's Feather
In Lizzy's Image
Maid of Honor

The Vengeful Fiance (Now under my imprint: Lord Leister's Daring Rescue)

TrebleHeart Books/Mountainview (All new editions now under my imprint)
To Keep Faith
Where Hope Abides
Second Chance for Charity
And Then There was Grace
Help! I'm A New Mother

Thank you so very much for helping me with this.

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Mostly marking the book as out of print works when there are not new editions available. I've put a note on "To Be Strong". Where there are new editions, what needs to happen is the new edition be set as the default view for each book. That's something librarians cannot do, but as author you can. Here's how: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

Editing to add: There's no rush on doing this; choose one problem book and give it a try.

For example, "From the Ashes". On the book page with the blue cover you can see little pictures of other editions. Click on one of the new covers which takes you to an edition you want to have showing.

There's a little grey "edit details" link below the line of little pictures; click on that to get to the edit page.

Then about halfway down the right side of that page, click "Set this book as the primary edition for this work". And you're done!
