At some point the teens all find each other and they naturally find themselves drawn to partners of different races.

I read this in like 1992 ish when I was around 12-13. My aunt would let me borrow books, and this one always stuck out to me.

The kids had been transported from our time to the future and we're segregated in a way that they would meet someone else from our time of the same race and would create progeny that was pure bred for each race. In this future races had cross bred so much that everyone was the same mixed race.

I don't remember how it ends or if it had a good message or some weird racist message. Having a hard time finding this in Google because I don't remember if it was a young adult novel or not.
