Most of my mysteries are on my Overdrive wishlist shelf. I have the second book in the Miss Julia series (Miss Julia Takes Over) on hold so I’ll probably uses that one for this challenge.

I LOVE Overdrive. I have a ton of books on my Overdrive shelf too, but I haven't combed through them in a long time for some reason.

That's always a great choice Keriann! Sorry if I keep using your name. On mobile, it doesn't allow me to reply to comments, so I want to be sure you know I'm replying to you ^-^

Interesting! I had to go look her up as I wasn't familiar with her. Her books do look like something I might like as well. Can't wait to hear what you think of the book you read ^-^

I have a few Agatha Christie books on my bookshelf in my room that I have not touched yet. I am planning on Murder at the Vicarage for my shelf category.

I've only read the first Poirot novel and a stand alone so far from Agatha Christie. I have been meaning to try her other series though. Looking forward to hearing what you think of Murder at the Vicarage

For this challenge, I will be using a book that is currently on my Kindle shelf: File M for Murder by Miranda James.
For this I will use a book I DNF and put on the shelf and I will give it a go one more time. Let’s see how that goes.
Great choice! I like to give books or authors second chances. That second chance may take a really long time to happen though lol. I've just started fully DNFing books this year, so it's a pretty new process for me.

It's been on my TBR shelf for a bit too!

The first book in this series was a #Book1CoziesClub pick and I'm having a real difficult time getting through it. I really want to love it, but I think I picked it up at the wrong time. I've put it aside and will give it another go soon.

I’ve read every single one, but they are on the light side and kind of cutesy, I read them out of habit nowDi wrote: "Jill wrote: "I’ve had this in my shelf for awhile so this will be my SHELF selection

I like the suggestion for Mary Stewart. I've had a few of her books on my Kobo shelf since I read "Nine Coaches Waiting" last year. I also have a ton of Agatha Christie's because I'm slowly working my way through her books.

"This sounds like a good series!! I might just havd to add it to my alread huge TBR!!
I have
by Julie Wassmer - I must honestly say I bought this because of Whitstable and it's links to Sarah Waters Tipping the Velvet. There is something so evocative about seaside towns...and the mystery sounds good too!I've not read this author before but this is a start to a series and I have the first three on my SHELF! It's sat there too long.

This one sounds interesting! I look forward to hearing what you think of it and awesome that you are getting to something on your SHELF. I've got books that have been there for way too long too ^-^

I finished It by Stephen King which was on my currently reading shelf. It is creepy, scary and weird but liked it. I loved the characters even more than the story.
I have chosen Mrs Saint and the Defectives from my Kindle shelf. I'm not far into the book and Mrs Saint is very annoying!!!! perhaps lead pipe might be needed here lolCatherine :-)
I am starting off slow. My pick for shelf is Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder and I am finding the main character Hannah very quirky. I re read one sentence in the beginning pages three times, She actually makes coffee by throwing eggs, shell and all in with the grounds! I re read it because I couldn't imagine what that coffee would taste like and thought I mis read the sentence lol
I pulled up my Goodreads TBR shelf & chose the mystery that had been on there the longest. Fine Spirits by Alice Duncan.https://bobbins-bokken-books.blogspot...
I finished Killing Red by Henry Pérez yesterday which was my selection for the Shelf prompt. I just about DNF'd it before finishing the prologue, but I'm glad I didn't. It turned out to be a good book. You can read my review at http://world-of-sleuths.blogspot.com/....
I finished
and enjoyed it - I will definitely be reading the next two I have on my shelf. It's cosy and thoughtful and I loved the setting in an English seaside town.
Angie Sturrock I read Magpie Murders for this one. I'm not sure why I hadn't got to it before now, but I loved this 'story within a story'. A thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish :)I read Magpie Murders last year and loved it!

Did you ever finish it Di? I agree that after reading 2 of them now, they are very slow, but I think it's because of the descriptions. The setting is so atmospheric. I think I liked the 2nd one a little better than the first and want to read more, but I really wish they were on audio.

Haha! I had forgotten that. I've definitely heard of putting all of that stuff in your compost, but I don't know if I'd want to run my coffee through it. I guess it adds some protein to your coffee?? Maybe?? It must enhance the flavor. I'm almost curious to try it.

I found this book several days ago at a library sale and grabbed it. We read the first book for #book1coziesclub awhile back and I liked it. My mom was a home ec. teacher from the 50s to the 80s, so I thought I'd heard of everything "vintage kitchen." But I'd never heard of a Hoosier, so I learned something. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series.

I put off doing this challenge until the last week. I think I was nervous to start it (again) because I had tried starting it a couple of times since last year and never got past the first two chapters. It ended up being one of my favorite reads for the month.
The book is Muslin Mystery by Vera Dodge. Book 3 in the Patchwork mysteries by Guidepost. The series features a quilt restorer who discovers mysteries and clues to solving them in the quilts she is restoring. I thought this book was exciting. It was full of mysterious family secrets, embezzlement, kidnapping, etc. This series is written by different authors and I don't think it is necessary to read them in order (unless you're a bit fanatical like me, LOL)

I haven't finished it yet. I keep thinking about it, which is a good thing because that means I haven't given up on it, but I just haven't been lead to pick it up again. It is still on my nightstand and I'm gonna try again soon.

Oh wow! I just looked that up. I had no idea that there were genealogy mysteries. That is why I love the Patchwork mysteries so much (by Guidepost) because the quilt restorer searches for clues at libraries, archives and historical societies.
