Notifications for a particular book are not possible as far as I know. I've tried that before as well. One can get notifications for the specific thread (week) under the book heading, but you would have to sign up for each one of them. What I do is look under "unread topics" on the right hand of the screen under the group links. It's not a perfect solution, but better than getting all those notifications you are not looking for.
Sorry, I've been running late with the Wives & Daughters. I am normally a very punctual person... We've been sick with the flu and still not out of the woods, so I've had trouble keeping up.

Thank you for your answer and suggestion.
Please do not worry about posting late. I guessed that you had been sick.
Being a moderator is also somewhat of a job. So please take it easy and make sure you get well. Have a good, warm cup of tea - over where you are, on the other side of the world <3 .

Is there a way to be notified, when the discussion leader of a book opens a new thread for discussion?
I have not turned on notifications for our group in general, because I get too many notifications. However, I would like to know what is going on the discussion for the specific book we are discussing. When we enter a new week and the discussion leader opens a new thread, it is not always on the same time of the week. It could be 12 hours or 48 hours later than expected and I am not able to check when it happens.
