Elissa | 5 comments Y'all I just finished this book the other day and need to talk about it. thoughts, observations, opinions.

Jessica Zolotsky | 1 comments I read this a few weeks ago. I liked it but wasn’t blown away. Thought it was a slow start and I didn’t think the ending was complete. What did you think?

Elissa | 5 comments I enjoyed it and definitely feel Celeste Ng is a very talented writer but at times I found myself wishing she wasn't so detailed on every single backstory. I found myself questioning the omniscent narrator as it allowed the reader to know everything but the characters themselves wouldn't have understood each other's feelings or background. I also noted that I felt like I knew izzy the least of all the characters and would have liked to understood her more.

Charlotte Muir | 1 comments I really enjoyed reading it. I think I may have sped through it too quickly to really think about alllllll the conflicts. My book club is reading it next month and I'm looking forward to discussing more of the themes with others. I also loved Ng's other novel but I think I prefer this one!

Hannah | 1 comments Like some of you I am really torn about this book. It is so beautifully written and I loved the various story lines. However, I really hoped for more of a climax. Instead, the story seemed to subtly wash away and I was left hoping for more. I also read this for book club and am looking forward to some discussion among the members about it.

Amber Dooley (itsamberyall) | 1 comments I’m behind, but read this with my book club last month. What a wonderful book. Has anyone watched the mini series on Hulu? Thoughts?

Cassandra | 1 comments I watched the Hulu show first! But I think I liked the show better? It was different...

The show made some changes that expanded on the book which I thought were good, well done and made the story deeper.

I was surprised by how much more I enjoyed Mia once I read the book, I did not find her likable in the show, additions from the book added to that. On the flip side, I think Reese Witherspoon brought out a softer side of Elena, still not a great person, but I related to her a little more where as in the book I did not at all.

I also saw the whole Bebe situation different in the show than in the book and I somehow changed sides I think?

Definitely worth watching I thought it was excellent.
