Intro Percy’s on the verge of saving two half-bloods when everything goes wrong. As Annabeth falls off the cliff with her captor Percy wonders if he will ever see her again? Join Percy as he goes on a hunt to find Annabeth. Will he find her, is he too late?
Character I’d like to focus on Percy Jackson. He is the protagonist of the story. If you met Percy, you’d notice that he is different. He can’t sit still for long periods of time. He has dyslexia, and ADHD. He has been kicked out of every boarding school he could get into. Through the story Percy is a dynamic character because he change’s. At the beginning of the book he isn’t stressed out and he is very happy. He is calm and is loving life. But you can see that he changes when Annabeth disappears. He gets upset, angry and breaks the rules. As the story goes on he becomes more experienced with fighting monsters and more fierce as he fights to get Annabeth back. Finally, once he completed his mission he goes back to a fun “normal” guy. As you can see, Percy is definitely a dynamic character. He changed to get Annabeth back. Percy Jackson is the hero of the story, he is a strong leader that even when he change’s, he always keeps his head in the game for his friends.
Conflict A problem develops when Annabeth falls off the cliff. This is an Man vs. Supernatural because he is going against the gods to fight the titans. The conflict gets inflamed as the hunters take over the quest to save their goddess. Because of that Percy creates more conflict by breaking the rules and following the hunters on their quest. The problems continue throughout the whole quest as Percy gets more anxious. As consequence to this conflict arise they end up losing comrades that died for them. Finally at the end of the book the conflict is resolved as Annabeth is reunited with Percy and her friends at camp half blood. Because of these problems, Percy learned that no matter the costs you can never give up on a friend. Rick Riordan wants teen readers to understand that friendship is the ultimate key to this world, and you should never give up on them!
Conclusion I think this book was awesome. It was full of action and adventure. If you are ever interested in reading a good book this is it. It truly teaches you never to give up on a friend no matter the cost. It is a clean book that deserves a lot of recognition. I would definitely rate this a five out of five star book. Rick Riordan is a great author that makes you feel a part of the book.
