(My first ever GoodReads advertising post.....Man, I hope I’m doing this right!)

My new book, A SIMPLE REBELLION, is a dystopian thriller aimed right at the heart of the current national debate that is driving us further apart each day.

It seems everybody in America is mad at or disapproves of some other segment of our cultural landscape. From politicians to the media to our neighbors, we disagree now more often than we find common ground. What if all this divisiveness continues to tear at the fabric of our society? What will become of America?

My answer is A SIMPLE REBELLION, a quick-paced, humor-laced, exploration of the dark places where this divisiveness is leading us. A SIMPLE REBELLION is set in a near-future America extrapolated from our recent national behavior to provide a glimpse of what we may be doing to our culture, our country, and ourselves.

I wrote A SIMPLE REBELLION because the story has haunted me for years, growing more insistent with each new President, each progressively more antagonistic Congress. The manipulation of facts and spin and our trust has been perpetrated on all sides, and the media has helped us listen only to whichever particular viewpoint we agree with. As a result, we can no longer tolerate differing opinions, can no longer discuss, can no longer listen objectively to debate, to the detriment of our future.

This book is my take on where our behavior it leading us.

A SIMPLE REBELLION is available on Amazon.com, in ebook and in print. The book has already garnered praise:

"A SIMPLE REBELLION is an action-packed, funny, dark, and poignant love letter to America - and a roadmap for how we might all make it through the bleakest of times unscathed. Christopher Ryan expertly integrates social commentary into his narrative with a style reminiscent of Richard Matheson and Rod Serling's best works,” writes Caseen Gaines, author of We Don't Need Roads: The Making of the Back to the Future Trilogy and The Dark Crystal: The Ultimate Visual History

Mike Rogers, former Senior Editor, Library Journal, states, "Through spry, humor-laced dialog, Ryan unfurls an Orwellian landscape pitting the fanatical president of a fractured, dysfunctional America uncomfortably close to our own against an unlikely hero who must ignore his own grief to rally a broken nation. Quick paced and provocative."

I hope you give it a try.

Thanks for your time.

Good luck with your book! K.D.
