Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Well, I have to apologise to everyone, because I think originally I'm the one who brought him to this forum back along, and I'm apologising to those who spent time or money on this piece of cacapoo to remain polite.

I've deleted my reviews but hopefully this will come unnecessary in the end because he'll be completely erased from book databases everywhere.

I hope this situation gets sorted for all the authors concerned (there are more than just Geraldine Evans) and I hope that time will one day heal the wounds of all those he has affected.

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 2992 comments No need to apologise, it's not your fault if someone else goes rogue.

Jim | 21810 comments I'm with Michael on this one, you can hardly be blamed because someone else does something like this

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments No blame to claim Lorraine so no need to apologise, you made your recommendation in good faith and who would have believed that this would happen. You couldn't make it up..... I enjoyed the books I read and only hope the proceeds went to the right author.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments Just seen this thread. Patti's words are wise indeed - we should be careful.

I've just looked at his Goodreads profile and the second paragraph says it all.

Thanks for the alert.

I meant per page :-)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments looks like all his Kindle books have been removed

message 65: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments A couple of his shorts are still around but the bulk of his work is gone. Interestingly, searching on his name brings up the books of the lady he is said to have plagiarised. At least she is getting some publicity out of it. Not an edifying tale, this.

message 66: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments very sad all round in all sorts of ways. When a market is open to all I guess there will be situations such as this. Makes me value the true goodies even more. Except Bill Oddie.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Goodie goodie yum yum!

Jim | 21810 comments Kath wrote: "Goodie goodie yum yum!"

:-)

But yes, I've with Stuart on the Bill Oddie front :-)

I suspect Amazon might find it has to use the anti-plagiarism software if only in its own defence. After all they're making money out of plagiarism, they'll have taken their commission on all the books he sold. Surely they should at least give it to her?

That is what should come from this poor writers nightmare, whether or no they actually decide to give up what they earned from it is another matter.
