I love your answers! Married by accident, that's amazing.
Where in Scotland did you live? I love that country. If it wasn't for my family and job my husband and I would move there.

I'm from Denmark so I would love if everybody was able to speak Danish. But nobody but Danes speak Danish 😁
I talk English when we're out travelling or when we go to Northern Ireland to visit my husband's family, but I don't feel very confident and I can hear all the mistakes I make and how wrong it sounds at times. It sounds so much better in my head!

Bryony (bryony46) | 1081 comments Haha, I love the fluffy fleece style too Laura. I think my favourite thing about winter is being able to wear my coziest pyjamas.

I’m a total perfectionist too. I nearly quit university in my last semester because I’d convinced myself I was going to get a bad grade for my final dissertation and I literally preferred never getting my degree to getting my degree without the grade I wanted (my uni didn’t have the option of adding extra majors or minors or I would totally have done that!). Luckily my boyfriend, now my husband, made me see sense!

That could be my talking! Maybe not road cycling, I did follow it a lot when I was younger though, but that was because I had a crush on Richard Virenque 😁
When the olympics is on I always find myself watching the most peculiar things.

Bryony (bryony46) | 1081 comments If you hadn’t said anything I wouldn’t even have guessed English is your second language Marina, you seem to speak it perfectly.

Is Danish a difficult language to learn? I have a friend who moved to Sweden to live with her husband and she found learning Swedish so difficult. Although I imagine English might be pretty hard to learn too with all our weird exceptions to rules, like mouse/mice, house/houses etc.

Bryony (bryony46) | 1081 comments Haha, I think all fans of cycling have to have a crush on at least one cyclist! I’m the same with the Olympics too, I usually end up watching hours of fencing or table tennis or some other sport I have no interest in for the next four years.

I learned French, German, Spanish and Russian and I can tell you than English is EASY compared to them ;)
You don't have feminine/masculine forms (even neutral for German), you have fewer verb tenses, no cases like in German and Russian, and faaaar fewer exceptions than in French.

Rachelnyc wrote: "I will definitely spend as much time as I can in NZ. Travelling around the world for a year?! I am beyond jealous!! Do you have a plan in place of where you are going and how much time in each location or are you more spontaneous?"

We had to come up with a plan of countries we want to visit to check out visa requirements and come up with a budget. In some cases we know pretty well where we want to go, and others we'll see when we get there ;)
We're going to Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Galapagos. Return home to Switzerland planned for April 2019!

Chinook | 639 comments Sophie wrote: "OMG Chinook, how is it possible to get married at the DMV?!? This is mad!"

Right??? Basically in Colorado they don’t require witnesses or officiants so you can just sign the licenses when you apply for hem and you are married. Then you could go off and do some fancy ceremony in the forest or whatever, but the logistics are done.

Sounds amazing! I spent about 3 months traveling through South America about 10 years ago and we ended up spending more time than expected in Bolivia because we loved it so much. It felt so untouched by tourism compared to many other areas and the people were wonderful.

Veronica (ronireads13) | 816 comments A little late on this, but here some facts about me:

1. I am left-handed.
2. I have never been outside of North America. I definitely have to remedy this someday.
3. I love sports. My favorites are soccer, American football, and hockey.
4. I love Ikea. Most of our furniture is from there and I actually really enjoy putting them together. I find it oddly relaxing.
5. I played the flute for 8 years. Senior year of high school, our 3 bands (marching, jazz and salsa) recorded a professional CD and sold it locally.

Thisis so cool getting to learn a little bit about everyone.

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I love Ikea too! I'm usually the one putting furnitures together, my boyfriend couldn't read a plan to save his life haha

I think putting together Ikea furniture is one of the biggest tests of a relationship :P

It went much better for us once we got one of their little drills. I think the only piece we have that isn't Ikea is our sectional. Which I sort of wish was Ikea because it started sagging within weeks of purchase. Darn those expensive furniture places.

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments I'll post late lol, its so hard to try and think of interesting facts about myself.....

1. I am an RN, although I don't really think of myself as one anymore. I worked for 13 years in Critical Care/ICU with a one year break during my 2nd pregnancy to get off my feet and do management. I had to leave, which makes me sad, so now I am teaching Nursing classes to LPNs at a local technical school and it turns out I'm a pretty good teacher. I will have to go back and pursue my Masters soon, either in September or the following year....But I'm taking this year off to do reading challenges.

2. I will bring home any animal you show me. Right now I am down to a one year old Wheaten terrier named Teddy and a tank full of tropical fish ( I'm excluding the kiddos here, but am tempted to add them since they were playing with their toys in the toilet bowl this morning). Our last two hermit crabs just died. We have also owned parakeets, rabbits, and ferrets. I used to have a cat. My friend is trying to encourage me to adopt her two pet rats.

3. Joan's posts are reminding me that when I was younger I used to compete in dance. I grew up in a dance studio. I did ballet, tap, jazz, and modern styles. My trophies are still packed up somewhere in the basement, and my mother has most of my costumes....she uses them as dress up clothes for all the grand daughters :-)

4. I have agoraphobia. Its much better controlled now than it was a few years ago, but it is near impossible for me to go anywhere that isn't TRACY APPROVED. I do really well at work, I can visit family although my moms house is easiest, and it takes me forever to get into my car to go places. I have a list of places that I can go to comfortably : The Big Y, 2 or 3 local gas stations and dunkin donuts, various Dr offices, the local zoo and the aquarium (animals, lol). I usually need someone to go with me ( my kids work for this). The hardest thing for me is playdates and birthday parties. I have had flat out anxiety attacks driving my kids to birthday parties :-(

5. I have a very crafty side to me, although I don't do too many projects anymore. I used to be a scrapbook fanatic. I love to color in adult coloring books. I love doing art projects with my daughters. The last big project I did for myself was to decoupage an entire bookshelf using pages ripped out of old books. Its gorgeous. I put it in my bedroom.

6. My nose is pierced lol. I love it. Also I have one tattoo on my right wrist......

They are so cute!! She sent me videos of them running up and down her legs and eating. They come when they are called. She thought they would be good therapy animals for me, I feel like its two more mouths to feed and more chores to do which I'm already struggling with. Plus, I have a terrier.

Peter | -28 comments I've been a little absent for the past little while because life has gotten busy, but I'll jump in late as well!

1. I backpacked across most of mainland Europe for 42 days with one of my best friends when I was 18, two weeks after we graduated highschool. This past October, My wife and I traveled around Germany for 10 days and I slept in more beds during our recent trip to Germany than I did during the 6 weeks I was backpacking.

2. My wife and I are expecting our first child in April. One of the things I'm looking forward to most as a dad is reading to my son or daughter (we won't find out until they are born), like my dad read to me.

3. I have practiced martial arts for the last 20 years. I have a third degree black belt in my original style, and a first degree black belt in a second style (think of different styles as picking up a new major in university).

4. I met my wife online. We were engaged within 6 months, and come April we will have been married for 4 years!

5. I'm a huge Star Wars fan! I love the originals, love the new movies (I tolerate the prequels and can appreciate that there are good parts in them, lol) and I collect and play a Star Wars tabletop war game where I get to pretend to fly little spaceships around - I'm a big kid at heart, lol.
