Kaitlin | 2 comments Series of children's "chapter" books, probably about the same length as Roald Dahl's longer books.

Covers were white, with sort of abstract drawings of children with bright colors.

I read them as a child in the early to mid 2000s, around 2004-2005, I got them from the library in Folsom, CA.

I feel like it might have been a male author, but I could have been wrong.

Stories revolved around children living in a cul-de-sac in an old fashioned sort of town, often going to town to buy penny candy or taking a trolley somewhere. I remember a specific story about a mannequin that belonged to one of the mothers, who was a seamstress, and another story about a bunch of kittens that the family cat gave birth to.

I think one of the little boys might have been named Eric, but I truthfully couldn't be sure.

Any insight or help would be appreciated!

Adele | 1420 comments Is it Cul-de-sac Kids Series by Beverly Lewis? There is a character named Eric. The multi-volume sets have white or off-white covers and are longer.

Rainbowheart | 28531 comments Maybe The Children of Noisy Village or one of the other books in that series?

Were they just old-fashioned or set in the past?
