Kate (kateu) Hello everyone!

I'm an experienced editor offering content edits, and full manuscript critiques. I have experience editing for several publishing houses, proofreading for Big 5 imprints, and experience as a literary agent. I'm an editor who can provide you with the quality of editing offered on the traditional side and the experience that comes with working in traditional publishing as an editor and agent.

For traditional authors I generally don't advise hiring an editor for full manuscript edits, but I do offer first chapter critiques for anyone who wants professional eyes on their first chapter before querying or to help figure out why they aren't getting any requests. As an agent I've read countless first chapters and often see the same mistakes pop up. I can give you the take of an editor and agent on your first chapter.

Kate (kateu) Hey everyone!

I became a literary agent last year but I'm still editing on the side. I'm now focusing solely on developmental edits and critiques and have updated my website to reflect that. I deleted comments about old services to prevent any confusion.

My spots for full developmental edits are limited and tend to go very quickly, but I have several openings for manuscript critiques.
