I read this been a long time ago in middle school but I can’t seem to find it. Basically this girl is chosen to help the “special one” in a time where the ozone layer is destroyed so people don’t really go outside. And she keeps having flashbacks of her in a restaurant where she actually got kidnapped but doesn’t remember that. Anyways she ends up discovering that she has the special gifts rather than the girl but she hides it and just helps her. Oh and prior to the orphanage she had lived with this lady who ends up being her kidnapper but they were always in hiding, but she just thought it was because of the atmosphere or something.
