ISO what I think was a fantasy book I read as a teenager (I'm now 30) that was set in a time of castles and kingdoms and there were people born with special abilities that were hunted down by the king. But he found a young girl with a special ability to learn any fighting style or who was a master of defense or something and stole her and trained her as his own warrior/assassin.
I don't remember anything except that vague description about that book and that it had a sequel that was something having to do with a little girl the warrior/assassin was trying to protect. The sequel was the name of the little girl which was Blu or something like that but I can't remember her full name. I think the second name started with a "C".
