Suzanne | 5417 comments I for sure would like to read the next one - I never have because .... challenges =)

I saw her and Patricia Briggs in a joint panel at Emerald City Comic Con last Spring and although she didn't say much, it feels like she has a lot of exciting plans for this world.

Suzanne | 5417 comments Oh other humorous parts I LOVED:
(spoilers through Chapter 16)

It's funny because even though I THOUGHT I remembered this clearly, I'm definitely noticing more the second time around.
For the record, I'm on Chapter..."

I'm not much for re- reading because there are so many books I haven't read but I could re -read this again. I wonder what I would notice on a re read say 6 months from now.

Laura | 9707 comments I'm up for Lake Silence. I 'm far down in the queue at my library ; but I 'll buy it when everyone is ready to read. When were you thinking Cathy?

Suzanne | 5417 comments Lol yeah I'm the same - I've given up on the library and am just going to buy it :)

Claudia | 435 comments If we're reading it let me know and I'll buy a copy on my kindle.

Hahahaha! Nathan SOOO overdid it :D ..."

I really enjoyed this part as well. It made me laugh and i just kept picturing it in my head.

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments How about this weekend - Saturday or Sunday? We've been doing them about 1 a week. Or is that too soon?

One other part I found really funny (can't remember which chapter) -

(view spoiler)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Yes- that was funny for sure! Wow I love Twyla. I miss them all already!

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Suzanne wrote: "Yes- that was funny for sure! Wow I love Twyla. I miss them all already!"

Me too!! I can already see me re-reading this series in the future :)

Suzanne | 5417 comments So what do others think about starting Lake Silence this weekend? If you want to wait longer that is fine - Cathy and I are also thinking of joining the The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle buddy read late - and we could start this weekend instead :)

Laura | 9707 comments Lol was calling us others intentional?

I'll join whenever you all want to start

Suzanne | 5417 comments Lol no. Although I wish it had been :) Yeah lets do this weekend if that works.

And somehow just typing that makes me excited =)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments I think the Others would like it :) Let's keep the momentum going & finish this weekend! I'll put the request in the BR thread in case you are too busy Laura.

Ora (oeamis) I started listening this morning. I do like that Meg is working with the cards to see if she can tell prophesies. So much safer.

Laura | 9707 comments Ora loOKs like you are going to be able to read the next one with us.

Laura | 9707 comments Thanks Cathy! I'll make the thread tonight after work.

Ora (oeamis) I need to vent about Jimmy (view spoiler)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Yes - Jimmy and Clarence pushed all my buttons. We went from kind of the impersonal stupid group of people in the last book to two specific people to hate.

message 78: by Ora (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ora (oeamis) I done!

Claudia | 435 comments I agree with you Ora. (view spoiler)

I started yesterday=)
I agree it is a much safer way, and a way for her to fight her addiction to the euphoria of a cut.

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments The start of this book reminds me of the situation after a war or large battle (which this technically was); everybody trying to adapt to their new reality, figuring out how to move forward.

Anybody else enjoying some of the descriptions in these books? Exploding fluffballs, bunnies with teeth, howling not-Wolf etc =)=)

message 83: by Ora (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ora (oeamis) I love exploding fluffballs!

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments Ora wrote: "I love exploding fluffballs!"

I catch myself smiling everytime I hear that phrase:P

Silje (sikna) | 1443 comments Some thoughts on characters:

Sierra: Anybody else who wanted to shake some sense into this girl?! (view spoiler)

Twyla: She is a bad-ass old lady! She manages to be sensible no matter if it hurts her, as long as it is in the best interest of her kids.

Keli | 1325 comments I can't believe I missed this BR! I love Meg & Simon's relationship. Twyla was the other star of this book. She was so wonderful with Skippy in the potluck meal scene that I cried a little.

The ending😍😍😍😍!

I think my fave thing about these books, which Cathy mentioned above, is that they are so good that even though I know I'm reading a detailed section of someone's work day or other mundane task, I still read every word. I'm sad about Meg & Simon ending but it's a great place to stop. There's space for revisit and it hasn't gotten to the point of such extreme repetition that it's a caricature (e.g. Anita Blake or dare I say the Fever series).

The ending was so good! Though I would have liked to continue on with Meg and Simon as main characters, they are adorable!

I haven't read the synopsis for Lake SIlence yet, but I'm guessing I will be reading that one too:P
