Looking for support on making as Stephen King Dollar Baby

Hello Stephen King Fans,

I am a local filmmaker in Minnesota and we are looking for a little support on bring REST STOP to the big screen. We are at the last 2 days of the IndeGogo campaign to see if anyone is interested in helping get this film off the ground. We have made some minor changes to the short story, like making the protagonist a female and changing the title to Rest Area since that is what they are called in the Midwest. Other than that it's pretty close to the short story. I hope this okay to post here. I have been apart of the group over the years and thought the Stephen King Fans should know about getting this story to the big screen.

Maybe a dumb question, but have you gotten permission to adapt the short story into a movie? Under copyright law, you cannot make a derivative work (like a sequel or an adaptation) without the copyright owner's permission.

We have gotten Stephen King's permission to do this film. 100%. There are some rules we have to obey like it will never live online and can only be seen on the big screen. It's not a dumb question at all. Thanks you for checking.
