I read this book about a year ago and will try my best to divulge the details appropriately, I don't recall the ending, it's kind of a blur.
-Small, frail, mid 20s woman is a drug addict. Comes off of a bender and almost gets run down by a black car
-Handsome strong man saves her, she's embarrassed because she vomits on his shirt
-She comes in and out of consciousness in a room she doesn't recognize. A doctor tells her everything is okay and Lamar saved her life. She feels horrible because she is coming off hard street drugs
-She wakes up and takes pills that Lamar leaves out for her everyday. She wears slippers 24/7 because she is not allowed to leave foot prints on the floor
-The home is made of glass/stainless steel by the water. She is locked in, she feels safe with this though
-Lamar rarely comes home but when he does he expects the home to be spotless, food to be ready, and wants the girl [cannot remember her name] to cleanse
-They get married
-Lamar doesn't come home for awhile and the girl starts to panic and she cannot leave the house because she's sealed in
-She leaves by jumping into the trunk of Lamar's car which gets stolen by someone trying to break into the house
-Turns out Lamar gets killed and he was an evil man. He told everyone at work how he had a "slave" in his basement. Lived a double life with another family. Even had different hair and wore glasses!
