Chris Nance | 536 comments Sorry Justin, for some reason when doing my critiques I missed your story. I found it though and posted a brief critique, for better or worse. I think I covered everyone this month. ;)

Justin Sewall | 1244 comments No worries Chris, but thank you! I only posted it yesterday, so there really wasn't a lot of time for reviews. Thanks your brief critique, I do appreciate it!!

Critiques before, during and after voting is permitted. That's why it's in a separate thread.

And by the way, it is voting time.

Tom Olbert | 1445 comments Many happy returns, Paula.

And, I don't know what the big deal is about when you do critiques. If they're constructive, they're always valuable, and that's the most important thing. And, I think one should always base a vote on one's own impressions, not someone else's. (Reading critiques can always wait until after you've cast your vote.)

Paula | 1088 comments Thanks, everyone, for the birthday wishes! Shall get to the critiques and voting tomorrow. Still recovering from birthday fun, lol.

C. Lloyd Preville (clpreville) | 737 comments Yes, I think the critiques are also a welcome addition. Past monthly boards were much less helpful and less lively too.

My concern about critiques during voting is not for well meaning critiques, it's about attempts to influence the votes. There are diabolical forces at play here. Lol

Paula | 1088 comments Truly, the critiques-before/during-voting issue was discussed in the past, C., and this is why the critiques thread is now separate from the comments thread and stories thread. A compromise, yes, but sometimes compromise works.

Karl Freitag | 69 comments I like and appreciate the critiques.
