When is a review not a review

I refuse to click on a hyperlink. I am not on Goodreads to follow people.
Now I have had a glass of wine and am really gearing up! Am thinking this " follow me here" borders on pretentious. I am just a leisure-reader with a very slow internet. I am not wasting my data usage following people .....
I will just read someone's review who took the time to post on Goodreads which I do follow and participate in

Hi Beth, I do understand with all you have said here. I pretty much always read some peoples reviews. But I have signed to follow them so they come up on a timeline of sorts on my home page. (AngryGreyCat is one of them) ;) I used to read reviews of others that have gone off to blog. Many times, I see that they have posted a review on their blog and I make a mental note to go back and read it...but since my mind is mush, I literally never remember. :-) Like you, I don't go to Goodreads to leave it! I have limited time and if I let myself do that then I would never get the dishes done or actually read a book. Ha.
I am on another site that has an area where you can write a review and post it on that site. I, actually find that more fulfilling than the odd remark on some discussion sites. It is also ok to ask questions or disagree with the review. Not that many people actually participate but it is good, just the same.
Have another glass of wine so we can hear more of your thoughts...you are an interesting lady. LOL

Secondly I hope that the people that have posted a book review elsewhere have also done the review on the book ..."
Hi David, happy New year to you.
I think I wrote my part a bit confusing...I don't go to other sites outside of Goodreads---I meant to say I am on another GROUP on goodreads. Groups all have their own rules and even just the way they do things. All are good and usually really fit the group and types of books.
When I first joined another group I criticized it because it was not set up like this one! LOL What a jerk I can be...thank goodness that people are forgiving.
On Goodreads when I finish a book and write a review...ithe review goes to my list of books read and to the book page itself. On that page, there is a place to click and send it to my facebook page. I must have clicked off things for it to do that.
I do cut/paste to put on Amazon.
If I read a Netgalley book it goes straight on to their site. I have mostly given up on them because you have to read books that you don't even like to build up your numbers to get more free books. I don't have the time consistently for that. I would rather read what I want to read.
Long answer to what I am thinking wasn't even a question. Sigh

Cut and paste is one of the best features on the keyboard.
I like the opinions on Goodreads but I am finding the posts filled with links to read a review elsewhere are a bit tiresome, especially since my internet is so slow it takes forever to get to Goodreads never mind leaping elsewhere.
Now I find myself making a mental note of the poster's and just not bothering to open those posts at all. Which rather defeats purpose of Goodreads
I joined Goodreads to discuss books ... not to follow someone all over the Internet.
Here ends my rant for the day.
