SOLVED. Shapeshifter - Female Alpha, nerd hero. [s]

Hi there,
I read this book a few years ago.

The MC is a female Alpha (in Florida I think) and the book opens with her arriving at a bar to assassinate a shifter who has sold his young daughter as a sex slave.

When she arrives, she finds her mate there and not only is he a human but he is sitting in a booth grading papers. If I remember correctly, he is a professor.

She proceeds to mark him, take care of the bad guy and then basically kidnaps her mate and takes him to her home without explaining anything. I remember it being pretty funny.

Any help would be appreciated. I've been wanting to re-read this for weeks now and just can't find it in my ebook collection.
