I read the book in 2016, and it was possibly a few years old then, (my gut says it was published around 2014/15). It was about this girl and she is writing a list of steps to become popular. She gets into this relationship with her English A-Level teacher and she has depression, or she was self-harming, I think. She wears brightly coloured tights if I remember correctly, and she is from a very middle class suburban London family. She is best friends with the boy who lives across the road from her. And she goes to a party with all the popular kids. Oh, and the English teacher takes her to see Jane Austen's desk because she is an aspiring author whose books keep being rejected. I feel like the cover was red, if that helps, and the title was quite long.

I borrowed it from the library and I remember writing a review for it for school, and I just really want to read it again, but I deleted the review the other month and I cannot remember for the life of me what it is called or who it is by.
