I finished the first Archie and Gretchen book and really liked it. I don't know why I've waited so long to get back to this series.

YESSSSS. I loved Chelsie and Frederick and that whole story behind Fclan. I love love loved it.
I will preorder the audio as well. I don't think I've loved a UF series like this in a while.
We can do a BR of the new release when it's out.

One never knows for sure with young authors. Sometimes as the series progresses they find their stride. I'm sorry for you that this wasn't the case with Red queen.
Speaking of a series improving after a meh book 1, Adrien English mysteries by Josh Lanyon are just getting better and better. After the really weird and disturbing end of book 1, I was prepared to abandon the series if the book 2 isn't really good. And surprise, surprise it was fine, not stellar but enjoyable and book 3 is even better.

Ezi, there is much more relationship stuff in book 2 but do not expect a happy fluffy romance. The mystery part is a bit wonky (as usual in MM books) but the relationship between Adrien and Jake is painfully real.
