The challenge doesn't actually start til February, Nicola, & I'm pretty sure you can just jump in on the thread without responding to the invite itself. I do that all the time, ssshhh... I rarely see the invite so yup, just jump in ;p

I wish I knew why so many of us don't get the invitations! I don't either!

message 69: by Brenda (new)

Brenda (justbcos) | 4 comments So... since this is my first challenge with this group - how does it work once we hit February? Apart from the "ready start - read!!!" part, what are we supposed to post in here about our progress? Sorry if this is a dumb question already answered elsewhere...

message 70: by Phrynne, Series Queen! (new)

Phrynne | 15790 comments Mod
Not a dumb question at all! Yes you can post your progress in here and you will see people doing just that once the month starts. I always go to my original message and cross out the one I have finished and add the number of stars I am giving it. At the end of the month you can copy your whole challenge and post it again so everyone can see how you have done:)

Kate | 25 comments Finished my 'Body' book - Jennifer Egan's wonderful Manhattan Beach
Her prose is so supple and evocative - a beautiful read. Set in the 30s and 40s in and around the docks and nightclubs of NYC, the story is intriguing, the cast of characters gorgeously evoked, especially our heroine, who is a delight. I highly recommend this one.
