Is it too late to join this months challenge? I didn't realise I hadn't got an email invitation and just logged on to find it online - but the invite closed on the 28th January. *sad*

I do that all the time, ssshhh... I rarely see the invite so yup, just jump in ;p

I wish I knew why so many of us don't get the invitations! I don't either!

So... since this is my first challenge with this group - how does it work once we hit February? Apart from the "ready start - read!!!" part, what are we supposed to post in here about our progress? Sorry if this is a dumb question already answered elsewhere...
Not a dumb question at all! Yes you can post your progress in here and you will see people doing just that once the month starts. I always go to my original message and cross out the one I have finished and add the number of stars I am giving it. At the end of the month you can copy your whole challenge and post it again so everyone can see how you have done:)
I would like to enter if it is not too late.I will advise books later. Having trouble uploading them.

Your daughter must be a great lover of books Lisa! There are some big reads there. I loved Anne of Greene Gables the movie when I was younger ... though the book will, of course, be much better! :-)
Finished my 'Body' book - Jennifer Egan's wonderful Manhattan Beach Her prose is so supple and evocative - a beautiful read. Set in the 30s and 40s in and around the docks and nightclubs of NYC, the story is intriguing, the cast of characters gorgeously evoked, especially our heroine, who is a delight. I highly recommend this one.
My 'head' book is a little outside the guidelines with part of the body showing. I started a book with just a head shot but in the first few pages it was so vile I had to stop so have substituted a memoir.
Progress report ... Scarecrow's Gender: Female
2. Head/Face
Currently on arms and legs.
Early days, but shaping up (see what I did there) to be a good read!

I'm devouring it today! So, so powerful. Brilliantly written. I think we my have a 5 star read here!
And in another ed. she has arms & legs, if anyone wants to add it. Actually, only hands & legs, so maybe just read it and cry (I did)
This was such a good switch and I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH.5 stars.
