SOLVED. Koontz book?

I think this is a dean koontz book. it is about a detective hired by a guy with a faulty memory who gives him pink diamonds. turns out the diamonds are from another world/dimensio where this guy teleports to when he is running from a stalker. the stalker turns out to be his brother and he has twin sisters who can track him mentally. they are all children of a hermaphrodite who impregnated herself and they all have powers. i know sound freaky but not 100% sure its a koontz book. trying to find it though so i know that i read this and its not just some story that keeps popping up in my head. i read it in 1995 along with those other books from that year i cant remember. i was going through a divorce and alot of drama at the time and seems all the books i read from that era i cant remember.
