What book(s) are you all reading this month?

I chose to just read one book this month for starters, but hope to do at least two a month from now on :) This month I'm reading Dragonwyck, which I've seen recommended in the FoC group several times :) How about you all?

I usually have three books going on at a time:

A read aloud with the kids
A fiction book
A non-fiction book

So I'm reading:

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone to the kids

The Shining to fill the "chill the bones" category in the winter library reading program

And I am between non-fictions at the moment. My New Year's Resolution was to read/re-read what's already on my shelves at home so I'm thinking about going through Financial Peace University again.

I just finished my first in the Maisie Dobbs series. I thought it was perfect. Also a great book if you are a crazy spelling Mom and need words for your child in preparation for a spelling bee.

Just finished _Home_ by Marilynne Robinson. Excellent.
Also read _Everybody's Fool_ by Richard Russo.
Started _The Lake House_ by Kate Morton but probably won't finish it. On the lookout for my next fiction read.
Listening to _Charlie and the Chocolate Factory_ in the car with the kids.
Slogging through _Predictably Irrational_ by Dan Ariely (non-fiction); interesting topic but the book isn't grabbing me.

I'm finishing up the last Dark Tower book by Stephen King. It's intense so I think I'm going to start a non-fiction to take breaks with, one that's been in my to-read pile for awhile - The Push by Tommy Caldwell (about rock climbing).

Joy, ^^ is 'A Room with a View' featured on a recent list somewhere? My book club is reading it for February and I keep seeing it on other people's current reading lists too. . . . I wondered why I kept seeing The Blue Castle pop up, until I realized it was featured on the FoC podcast. :-)

I’ve been working through the Harry Potter series for the first time and just finished the last book. (insert crying emoji.) Next I want to pick a classic I’ve never read. Debating between Fahrenheit 451, Frankenstein, Anna Karenina or House of Mirth.

I just read Frankenstein at Halloween and it was great. I read the original unblemished version. ha! Ask me how I really feel about changing an original.

My first book of the year was Christmas at Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons. I then read A Little Princess for the first time and I am now reading Frances Hodgson Burnett’s other book The Secret Garden. Little Women is next on the list!

@neika I downloaded Frankenstein but took so long deciding I started “A Man Called Ove” in the meantime. Lol.

I finished Peace Like A River by Leif Enger about 30 seconds ago. Modern Mrs. Darcy said it was a great winter read and she was correct. A friend is insisting I pick up When Breath Becomes Air next. Also reading a book about gut health. ;)

I'm reading 'Cold Sassy Tree' - it's definitely different than my usual reads, but I'm enjoying it. Also reading 'Eat Better than a Cave Man'; which is interesting but not my favorite genre, so it's going slower than it should.
