The artwork on this edition of Fight Club does not match the artwork on the Amazon listing with matching ASIN. The listing can be found here: http://amzn.eu/5N61pdy

In addition, some of the other metadata appears to be lacking (at a glance, the "published date" has not been added).

Could this entry be corrected to match the Amazon listing?

Sandra | 31514 comments The cover is an earlier cover for that edition. Also Otis (creator of GR) worked on that edition including the publication date, so not sure why it isn't showing).

I'll add an Alternative Cover Edition which is standard GR Policy.

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments I've reverted Otis' changes Sandra - it was due to the Amazon-Goodreads dispute data removal which it's now OK to revert.

Sandra | 31514 comments Emy has fixed the original edition & I've added the ACE. The publication date I've used is this month. We use that if we can't determine when it was published. If you have a better idea of when this cover was published we can change it.

Yep, saw you were working on it :)

Hmm... seems a strange approach to not set the publication date to the one listed on the Amazon page, even if it has a different cover.

Would be nice if the 'alternate version' text was in italic and the ASIN was a hyperlink to the original version? As is done on this book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... Just makes it easier for people to follow back to the original version :)

Usually we would set the publication date to the date of the release for the new cover. However in this case we can only know that it was sometime before today, and it's not really feasible to add an approximate date that could be many years out of date! :) This is an unfortunate effect of no one noticing until some time has passed.

lethe | 16363 comments The current month/year should only be used for self-published books, not for books from regular publishers. However, since this is a Kindle edition and the "Look Inside" gives no information, and there is no matching print edition*, it is hard to tell what the correct pub date is.

But I would much prefer to add the pub date as on Amazon, or alternatively leave it blank, than to add a date we can be sure is wrong.

I italicized the librarian note.

*According to the publisher, the paperback edition with that cover dates as far back as 1997: https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/10332... (click on "View more editions")
